I know what you mean about Vala, but her most recent appearance in the last couple of episodes were significantly toned down compared to her previous efforts. Perhaps she will undergo a Cordelia or Wesley-esque personality change ala Angel.
Oh my god, permanent Character Development... in SG1?? How can it be????
I heard that in season 10 they are adding an Asguard to SG-1, his name is going to be Rigel, and they are also going to be renaming the show to Fargate SG-1.

As a proud member of the SPCC (the Society For Prevention of Cruelty to Crichton), I have to agree that Ben is just too much fun to watch. SG-1 was winding down but (IMO), but with Ben (and Claudia) on the show, I'm in for another couple of seasons!
Browncoats just need to believe in something...I believe I'll have another drink!

Except of course, SG-1 isn't the longest running SF series, not by a long way, only 9 seasons in 11 years. That honour belongs to Doctor Who with 28 seasons over 42 years.

This is too cool! And I loved "Wormhole X-treme",...BUT...I don't like the addition of Ben & Claudia. This is not 'Farscape' and adding two actors from that show makes it look like Farscape.....I don't enjoy the show with them on it
I am very happy that RDA will be back,...no-body like Con. O'Neill(two l's). How cool that they even think about FF/S like that!!
...it's worst than you know...Operative
...it usually is.....Mal

Hey! I *like* Cam! Just so long as they don't use the ep to drag back up the whole Sam/Jack stuff. I mean, come on - let's try and be a professional woman for a change and not lust after our CO.

True, but it *is* the longest running US sci-fi show, so that outta count for something. NOt all of us get to watch Brit-TV.

Yes, but Doctor Who is so... British.
Ooh, this does seem shiny news!
'Haps maybe SciFi got the hint that O'Neil was part of the reason for the success of SG-1? I sure hope so, one of my complaints is that Mitchell doesn't fit too well with the original crew and that annoys me.
When, exactly... is the 200th episode by the way? I'm all excited now!

The story, in short strokes, is Martin Lloyd has come to the S.G.C. because even though "Wormhole X-Treme!" was canceled after three episodes, it did so well on DVD they're making a feature. A little kiss to "Serenity" and Firefly, which was possibly one of the best canceled series in history.
I think what he meant is: The return of RDA as such is a kiss to Firefly/Serenity. The episode itself will have nothing to do with it.

But then not all of us got to see firefly, SG1, Battlestar, the west wing or bablylon5 when they were first available either so at least a spot of who every now and agiain makes us feel slightly wanted ;]
I mean Firefly hasn't even been shown on a free to air channel in the uk yet...

Also (in the SG-1 versus Dr. Who debate), SG-1 hasn't had a season-long "hiatus" (read: "cancellation with a possibility of resurrection") in its past; it's been in regular, ongoing production.
Calling it "the longest continuously-running sci-fi series in history" would be accurate AFAIK.
