Hmm...gotta go with one of the following:
1) R2-D2 (gotta share the astromech love
)
2) The T-800 Terminator (Arnie's a doink, but still...he'll be back!)
3) Data (androids are just interesting to watch, especially ones portrayed by Brent Spiner)
4) Rommie (Andromeda is one of the weakest Roddenberry shows but.....look at her! She could give a toaster a hard-on
)
5) Major Katsuragi from Ghost in the Shell (would have had her higher, but her status is still unclear....android or cybord?)

Ha ha! Check my post further up. and why don't some of y'all take that colassal death robot test I linked? It's kinda fun. Here's the link again. http://rumandmonkey.com/widgets/tests/giantrobot/
And DM, I loved batteries not included. It's a family classic in my house.

Op: You're fighting a war you've already lost.
Mal: Yeah, well I'm known for that.

OPTIMUS PRIME!
Bad arse red big rig that talks like John Wayne.
There is nothing as cool as Stan Bush’s ‘The Touch’ blaring away as Prime mows Thrust down, forward flips and shoots another Decepticon mid-air upside-down.
It makes you want to stand up out of your seat and yell “Fuck Yeah!”
And to this very day I still remember crying like a schoolgirl with a skinned knee when he died.
Wait... did he say 'spoilerama'?

1. Marvin (Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy) The original , not the Alan Rickman monstrosity.
2. Lore (Data's just such a wuss)
3. Sonny (I, Robot)

Hey Big 'C' how'd I miss this....?
Ok I dunno if he strickly counts as a robot but defintitely:
YUL BRYNER as that "gun totting bad 'bot" in WESTWORLD
Honorable mentions to HUEY and DUEY from Silent Running and I kinda liked that bizarre looking thing in that Film Saturn 7 is it? With Kirk Douglas and Harvey Kietel. It had like a pin for a head! Really strange.
and of course GORT

Marvin from Hitchhikers and K9 from Dr Who.
K9 mostly for the effects. I'm sure I remember a scene where you can see the string pulling K9 along. Brilliant.

Quote:Kusanagi. Unless you're talking about one of the mangas. I believe they have a different lead character than the movies & series.

FWIW, S.A.C.'s version of Kusanagi's described as a cyborg, even though she has no organic parts left. The only thing "real" is her Ghost, which is probably why she's so dismissive of Turing-capable machines (if the Tachikomas are developing Ghosts, then there'll be nothing that makes her "human").

CLASSIC! I own it. Heck, I saw it in the theatre (my Dad had to take us). Terminator's seeds were planted there.
I'm shot Chrisisall
