1. Star Wars Episode 1-3 - the dialogues are just goofy, as pretty much everything else.
2. Matrix Sequels - planned or not, I think they were completely needless and gabby.
3. Final Fantasy - Advent Children. After all those praise all over the net I gave it a try - well, it's an eye-straining CGI-showcase with insanely quick cuts. The plot is about as deep as a puddle.

Definatly the Matrix sequels!
Spiderman (when i got out of the theatre i about cryed....not that the movie was sad, it was the fact that i could never regain the two hours of my life back...no matter how hard i try)
Final Fantasy The spirits within. (great visual effects but serious, story sucked as bad as matrix revolutions if not worse. they slapped the tag "Final Fantasy" on it to make it sell, it wasnt FF!)

)P.S. Star Trek TMP is THE BEST original crew flick, the most serious, and it had the most to say about our everyday lives than any of the others. You MUST see the Director's cut if you haven't already, it's a marked improvement.

yeah, pretty much Starwars 1-3, redefining inane in a galaxy far far away.
But about Brothers Grimm. That disappointed me more than anything, not because it was a bad movie (it wasn't great, but it looked so incredibly good, and I still found certain sequences stunning, spooky and visually chilling, the dialogue wasn't as bad as some I could mention (^) and the treatment of the fairy tales wasn't all sickly and crap, It had a nice vein of Gilliamesque horror running through it.
BUT IT COULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH BETTER!
I'm a huge fan of Terry Gilliam, his movies and him, and this could have been the best thing he ever did (mainstream anyhow) but no.
It made me want to fly to hollywood, hunt down the Weinsteins and post their heads on sticks just out side the city limits as a warning to other d
d producers who mess up the people with actual creativity and talent all for the sake of grubby green stuff.
Gargh, infact, I think the thing i'm most disappointed in about hollywood is the producers. (apart from the woman who got Serenity greenlit, she needs to be knighted)

Wow theres not a lot of love for the Matrix sequels.
Although they weren't as good as the original (obviously), I think they're still good movies. Yeah theres a whole bunch of gibberish nonsense that spouts out the Architect's mouth and the ending's a letdown... but other than that, they're perfectly entertaining flicks
As for those that nominated Spider-man... well I'm at a loss for words. Sure you're all entitled yo your opinion and that scene at the fair where Spidey fights the Goblin in his horrendous suit does look like you're watching power rangers, but still... Spidey?!!!
That's one of my all time favourite films. And as a reader of the comics, I thought they did a hell of a job translating it to the big screen - despite the changes.
Star Wars prequels... I know a lot hate but I rather enjoyed and wasn't disappointed in the slightest when I first saw them (except for those "Romance" scenes in Episode 2)
Now that I've defended 3 movies, I'll nominate my own disappointments
Elektra - First one I thought of when you mentioned the word "disappointment". A lot didn't like Daredevil, I did - and I loved the Directors cut. I heard this was on par or better than. Still I didn't want to get my hopes up.
But what a steaming pile it was.
So much style and no substance. I want to go back in time and force Mark Steven Johnson to do it, but not only do I not have a time machine, I don't know MSJ
I'm hoping this is remade. And soon, before DD2
Underworld. I so thought I'd like this.
I was wrong.
Again, style over substance takes hold and produces this. No matter how many shots there are of Kate Beckinsale in that outfit, I can't like this. I even gave it a second chance and watched it on dvd. Still pants.
I hear the sequels better though, so I might give that a shot on dvd
The Clearing
Ok so it's not awful, I just couldn't think of another. I heard this was a good movie, and so when I saw it to buy for £5, I thought I couldn't go wrong. Turns out I could. To be fair, the movie is good pretty much through out but the ending is just awful. When it ended all I could think was "is that it?"
Jeepers Creepers also had a naff ending, but fortunately the opening half hour is terrific, and the rest not so bad, so I can forgive it

Thank you. Now I don't have to include that one on my list. I was so disappointed in it.
Now, on to my three. People are probably going to disagree with me, but this is just what I think.
1. The Others. Built up to be so scary, but it was the most boring yawnfest I have ever seen. Oddly enough, everyone still thinks it's great.
2. Harry Potter, Prisoner of Azkaban. I was so looking forward to this one, as it's my favorite of the books. Unfortunately, not only did they completely screw it over as an adaptation of the book, they also screwed it over as a sequel to the first two movies. I spent the whole time sitting there going, this is so wrong.
3. Shark Tale. I expected this to be very good and funny, with such a great voice cast. However, I got about two laughs out of it, and it was a huge letdown. Never gonna watch it ever again.

Well thanks alot for bringing up Highlander 2...I had successfully removed that from my brain.
I waited for that movie and was so angry with what was produced. Highlander 2...if it existed in my reality would be 1, 2, and 3 on my list.

Interesting. I always thought that Kill Bill 2 was the better of the two, simply because it contained most of the actual story. Without it, 1 is just flash (albiet very well done flash).

I agree that Highlander 2 has got to be up toward the top of the list.
I would add the first of the Star Wars prequels, Phantom Menace,' simply because it seems to be the weakest of the three. I didn't think it was bad per se, just very disappointing after all the hype. I didn't think the other two were that bad. Far from perfect, but less disappointing than the first.
There seems to be a lot of truth to the even-numbered Star Trek films being the ones worth seeing. And aside from the thrill of seeing the old crew back together, the first one was pretty awful.
If wishes were horses, we'd all be eatin' steak.
