New SciFi Wire Poll.. Should Harrison Ford continue as Indiana Jones or should Nathan Fillion be considered?

I don't like both of them:
- Ford is too old
- Fillion lacks experience. If he had proved himself in more (successful) big scale movies, he could do it. But not at this point.

This is a hard one. Grew up with Harrison Ford as Indy.The thing is I really can't see Harrison Ford as a 60ish Indy. The 4th movie should have been done long ago and the character retired. Really no one else can play Indy.
The same with Mal, no one but Nathan can play him either but if the role of Indy is recast as a younger man, Nathan is the only actor that could do the character justice.
Edit: Nathan would have to have several scenes without a shirt and also tight pants.

I totally agree. Loved Harrison Ford in this role, but c'mon. This will be so unbelieveable if he starred in Indy 4.

The new flim they are making titled Casino Royale is actually a remake of the 1967 Bond film which starred David Niven. The Niven version, was treated as a spoof and also starred Peter Sellers who had previously teamed up with Niven in the original Pink Panther movie.
However, back in 1954 on a (CBS television) dramatic anthology series called Climax, Casino Royale was shown as a pilot for a possible James Bond TV Series. Veteran television actor Barry Nelson played Bond. That makes it the first performance of James Bond...8 years before Dr. No.

Hmmm.... Hard to imagine Bond working on television back then. I doubt if it was shown on British TV either.
The 1967 Casino Royal was a complete mess, they threw out all of Flemmings original plot and it ended up as a loosly linked series of scetches featuring various actors of the period.

In the same way, Connery owned the James Bond role, but people age and times move on. Brosnan was an amazing Bond, and for many people was their favourite bond. Though I like the old bond films, I like the new ones too. I think, as long as they chose the right actor, they could move away from the ever-ageing Ford, and the same thing will happen to the Indy role. Ford is now 63 which is, i'm sorry to say way too unbelieveable for an action hero like Indy. They need to find another actor to fill his shoes. Don't forget Bob Holness, who was the second actor to play Bond, in a 1957 radio version of Moonraker.

I had to go with the 'golden years' choice. I've heard Connery is supposedly playing the father again, so that's reason enough to see Ford as Indy.
Anything else on the big screen would just be wrong.
On another hand, I've heard Matt Damon will be playing Mal in the sequel to Serenity.
