I posted on that thread a couple of times. It's awesome. I personally love anything by BookAddict; especially the 12 days of Christmas Series! I've been reading for a while, and have found that I really like the fics/ficlets that stay away from sexual pairings.
Hence the reason for my drabble (long, long drabble 12 chapters thus far); I've always found the idea of the character interactions the most interesting. How would people deal with a new person.

I requested a FJ scene with River and Mal (River hanging upside from his ladder with the light in her hair, that would look so cool!) but I don't want to harass mphillips - she must have a billion requests!
The sequel passed 50,000 words this weekend. Still a lot to go. I'm insane.

I have read some fanfics here and some on other fan sites including Fanfiction.com which has fanfics from movies books tv shows, it has its own Firefly section there too. I have been working on a story set in the 'Verse. I created a new character and from her point of view she crosses paths with Serenity and her crew. I am still working on it and it is not near finished. The parts I have down so far are as follows:
Liara Hawke's father was a Browncoat and both her father and her brother died in the war. She had been on her own for six years and had been picked up by slavers. She served as a galley cook and was a slave on someone's boat for two years. The story opens where she has escaped and made her way to Persephone and meets Zoe and Mal and Serenity. I have only started but she meets each character as Mal takes her around the ship. She doens't know it yet but Mal knew her father and helps her out because of something that happened during the war. Mal hires her on as a cook and she has some flight experience and went to flight school where Wash did. (by the way do we know the name of where he went to flight school and on what planet?) This is set pre-Serenity the movie. Some other moments are meeting Jayne. While she is exploring the cargo bay alone Jayne thinks she is up to no good and grabs her. Liara almost takes him down in a very humerous exchange that leaves Jayne mighty confused. I think she will have a crush on Mal and her and Kaylee hit it off right away. River knows things that the others don't (of course) about the newest crew member including who needs to find her and who wants her back. I am still introducing Liara to Serenity and her crew. I wonder where to post them on this site. I have never done a fanfic that others have read before, it all a little intimidating. What do you guys think should I post it? And where could I do so? It is far from finished but I could post it in pieces I suppose? I try to be original and I know the whole fugitive thing docking from Persephone isn't but... any suggestions
