The Sun counts down the 25 best series that were cancelled before their time.

3: FIREFLY: This series from Joss Whedon (Buffy The Vampire Slayer) billed itself as the anti-Star Trek, a futuristic western about outlaws living on the fringe of a galactic empire. The show, fronted by Edmonton-born Nathan Fillion, wasn't remarkable for special effects or mind-bending 2001 concepts, but for its sharp performances and whip-fast wit. Firefly got the short shrift from Fox, which aired episodes out of order and pulled the plug before all its instalments had aired. Whedon exacted a revenge, of sorts, when he wrote and directed last year's feature film Serenity, based on the series.

First post. Hi all.
Perhaps more important as another notable mention... See #11 on the list:
11: FAMILY GUY: How does a show that's still on the air make it on this list? Because it WAS cancelled by Fox and resurrected only because DVD sales convinced executives there was still cash to be milked from Peter Griffith's udders.

Anyone know the total for Firefly DVD sales? Last I heard was around 600k, but that was back in October. Family Guy sold well over 2 million before it was brought back, and reruns on CN were a HUGE hit.

One of my fav shows ever is not even on the list and never seems to get any love. How about "Vengeance Unlimited"? A way to short lived and forgotten gem in my opinion. I keep hoping that one day it will get released on DVD, but it seems it is way too forgotten for that to ever happen...

ah I'm sure they'll make for DVD at some point if they haven't already. One of my all time favorite series from the 60's that also only ran for one season was put on DVD. "The Prisoner" if you haven't seen this series yet I highly recommend it.

Also, boy are they right on with the X-Files having been on too long.

I live in CAlgary, and remember reading that article on Saturday, and squealing with glee. Also, Firefly is at # 3 at HMV for DVD sales. This may eventually lead to the revival of the series, given loads of luck and Browncoat donations. More likely is that a Serenity 2 will be made..if not, in ten to twenty years I'll track down Joss and we'll make it. Or I could make it on the Movies PC game.
I think a little chaos is in order.

By all means, Trimble, dig into the strawberries.
The story about the coats is that usually one gets one's coat from FollowMal or Kaele.
Something to do with the night we shot the lock off the store-room when the door wasn't even closed. Maybe. Something like that, anyway.
Blame it on the mudder's milk!
Heh.
Oh, and don't step on the cat.
