Nathan would be a great Indy but I think that hardcore fans of the franchise would go crazy if they replaced Ford at this point. Maybe in a prequel he could play Indy, that would be cool.

I had to vote Ford as well. I can't see anyone but him being Indy just like I can't see anyone but Nathan ever playing our goodly Captain Reynolds...

Much as I loved Harrison Ford in the first three Indy movies, I cringe at the idea of him in a 4th, and I also don't want to see him pass the torch to another CHARACTER. If I go to see Indy, I want to see INDY.
Fillion would be great, and the poll now stands even (both with 43%)!

Last I heard rumor-wise on the new Indy movie, is that it's about Indiana Jones training someone new. Almost like Batman Beyond on the WB. In this case, I think Nathon Fillion makes a good student to Harrison Ford. But I'm sorry - there's just no replacing Indiana Jones. I think Nathan is awesome and a great actor. All fanboy aside, I think he could have deserved an Oscar nod this year - almost never before have I seen someone embody a character as much as Nathan is Mal. However, Harrison will always be Indy. Indiana Jones is NOT like James Bond. Having a different actor isn't the same thing. It'll feel like a cheap knock-off movie if it isn't Harrison Ford.
But like I said, I heard there was a newcomer who Indy is 'training.' And for that role, I'd be happy to see Nathan Fillion.
Keep on flyin'

Harrison is, and always will be, Indy.
I did think River Phoenix was interesting in the younger role but if they're going to make a new Indy movie I wanna see Ford up there on the screen.
Now don't get me wrong. Its not like I'd wanna see Ford play Captain Tightpants or anybody else for that matter, but that just adds to my feeling about it. There are certain roles that should only be played by one actor and that's that.
Mal is Nathan and Indy is Harrison...its just the way it is ;)

Only reason Indiana Jones "isn't like James Bond" is a timing issue. Folks felt exactly the same way about Connery and Bond at the time (and Connery wasn't even the first guy to play Bond!). We've already seen 4 other guys play Indiana Jones at different stages in his life, so the precedent exists.

polls now %43 Fillion, %43 Ford
I say let Fillion be in any role, he'd be very well.

I like this idea, this will open up new avenues of adventure for Indy.
As long as Indy dies, otherwise people will always wonder where he is and why he isn't in the next three inevitable films.
(following the whedonesque style of character killing)

I think Harrison Ford is and always will be Indy and from what Paul Bettany said about the fight scenes in FIREWALL, he's still in GREAT shape, but if they ever get a younger Indy, no one would be shinier than our own Mal, I reckon
Keep flyin'!
