26 new episodes are being produced as we speak. Yet another FOX show which is coming back due to fan support. This is great news for Futurama fans, and anyone hoping to see more Firefly.

Great news for Futurama fans!
But hold your horses there. Futurama is an animated show. Relatively cheap to produce.
Especially with the animation done overseas.
Firefly, or any show that's "live", is not.
It's been said many times, here on these boards and elsewhere, bringing back an animated show is not a big risk, nor is it any kind of strain on a network's pocketbook.

There's a reason for that. The producer is pissed that it got cancelled in the first place especially considering its ratings. He agreed to make more but refused to let them show it on TV. This way FOX wont make as much money. Good for him!

Yes, huzzah! Family Guy was great, but I thought Futurama was pretty special. (The end of that episode where Frye finds his frozen dog still makes me cry )

And true, it is cheaper to make an animated series than a live-action show by an order of magnitude. But I say smeg to reality! What good is it anyway?

First Family Guy, now Futurama (even if straight to DVD.) So that's 2 down, 1 to go for our friends at FOX. :)

Hurrah!
Futurama is funny, but this mostly gives me more hope to some new Firefly episodes. Aint a power in the verse that can stop me from hopeing for more Firefly on the other hand.
