I was searching around on google today when I found this….

http://something-something.factmedia.net/Something/something.html

Look familiar? (Give it a minute, it might be slow to load.)

I found this a while ago. I thought it was a fluke page generated for archival use. I even posted as anonymous at the bottom.

It's almost as if I stepped into a different dimension. Everything's different with only vague references to things that I know.

Anyway, the site appears to be hosted via a 48k modem (or something equally sluggish) so I wouldn't make much of it.

That place gives me an uncomfortableness. I logged in and it dropped me back here.

The website www.factmedia.net is registered in Sweden. However, there is no www.factmedia.net website, per se. It seems to be an automated page-generating database, which grabs certain words or phrases out of other people’s sites and then builds really obtuse links between them. Might be part of some weird hacker contest or something equally strange. Some people really have too much time on their hands... (gee, look who's talking)

Update: There is a www.factmedia.com site which is owned by the same company. It, however seems to be a bogus site and the company name is registered in whois as "ltd." which is also bogus.

Conspiracy theories, anyone? Have we stumbled onto something nefarious?
