It's like team Fan fiction, but with your own ship and characters. You generally write from your characters perspective, but are usually welcome to write with other people's characters as well. We usually ask for one post a week, but more is common. The Captain is the Host of the game, and has the basic outline of each storylines plot and guides things that way. His XO is a co-guider of stories. Then each person takes on the role of: the engineer, the pilot, the medic, the blah blah blah...

I belong to a group that does this called the the Starfleet Legacy Alliance (SLA). They were originally just Star Trek (and still primarily are), but they are beginning to branch into other genres. They've had a lot of success with Stargate, and success with Wing Commander.

And I'm proposing we start a Firefly game. If you think you might be interested in this, please stop by:

and look in the SLA Lounge thread. Gods willing, you'll see activity on a sub-thread about Firefly. What I need to make this happen is (at most) maybe a dozen creative people that want to write a story together, that are willing to contribute with taking over. It's working with - not against - which is what a crew should do.

Listen up, Brown Coats. The ball is rolling. We've sent off our request to the PTB, and now await their decision on whether to include our Firefly sim within the SLA. They are a great organization that shares resources and experience, and we'll be fortunate if they allow us to join.

We could know within the week.

On that topic, assuming we're approved we'll need a picture of a Firefly class ship for our web page. Does anyone know of any quality pictures that are either specifically stated "public domain" or else an artist we can ask to share his creation? I wonder what the situation would be using that Firefly ship outline that ends every episode?

Regardless of the result of this vote by the Council, I want to thank all of you for supporting this endeavor. By writing messages on the SLA Ten Forward message board and showing your support, you will largely be to thank if this is approved. Keep up the good work, crew.
