Even though I hear that SG-1 is a good show, SG-1 is on my "forbidden" list of television series not to watch for personal reasons; It would be a serious "trigger" If I were to watch 1 episode of SG-1, I would want to strangle someone right after, so I better not.
Thanks for the suggestion though.

They're not currently in production so getting addicted might not be the best idea. Having said that, go look for the DVD collections (or hunt down VHS tapes) of ...
Monarch of the Glen (DVD - 4 seasons) - Scottish television show about Archie MacDonald, family and friends when he has to come back to the old family estate (GlenBogle) and take over as Laird.
China Beach - Vietnam experiences of MacMurphy (Dana Delaney's first starring role) and other nurses and doctors. It's also where Marge Helgenberger got her start.
Babylon 5 (DVD 5 season + movies) - One of my fellow Minnesota Independents (shout out to Mario) has loaned me the first season of Babylon 5. I'm through 5 of disks so far. It's not bad - He said to hang in there because of a 4 year story arc. I'm going to give it my best.
Coupling (BBC DVD 5 seasons). Not the pitiful American rip-off but the original British series. Be careful, when Steve begins one of his rants, you might laugh milk out your nose.

I have babylon DVD sets from season 1 to 3, but I'm pretty much done with it. Its good and I liked B5 a lot, but I need something more comforting. I'm heading into a depressive-cycle, so I guess I better fallback on old reliable..Firefly or my entire Audrey Hepburn DVD collection, but thanks for the information on all those other movies!

I was depressed yesterday, so I went out and blew $700 cashy money, and bought an Archos, DVR movie player. Its one of those devices that puts the ipod to shame. Here is the link so you will know what I speak of: http://www.archos.com. I bought the AV-700. It small enough to carry around with you, and it has 100 gigabytes of storage, so I can record all my movies into it. Lastnight i recorded Serenity into it and today I made myself a picnic and went to the park and ate, watched people with lives, and watched Serenity...it was a good day.

Xerogravity's a big wimp!
I thought Boxy's dad was the officer on the Panmunjomish space station that was destroyed in the first few minutes of the miniseries (sorry, I'm posting from work so I can't go get the actual station name). Double check the pics on his desk. I wonder what he did to piss his CO off so bad that he was exiled to the ass end of the BSG 'verse for a year? I also wonder what Pamunjom Six would have done if, after she asked "Are you alive?" Mr. Boxy had answered "No."
Hell. It's special.

Glory be to the Viper, and to the Holy Turbo-launch. Now and forever, it makes heaven out of space.
Lo, you infantile boobs that appreciate not it's power and design. You will be blasted from the stars like so many impotent Firefly-class garbage scows.
As it is written, so shall it be vaporized.
Bring it, you clumbsy Battlestar worshipersChrisisall
As the son of an AF fighter jock, I completely understand your feelings. And you're wrong.
The TRUE hero of the spacelanes is the underestimated Raptor. Being the extendable eyes, ears and brains of the battlegroup, the Raptor tells the lowly assVipers where to go and what to do. From being able to make its own FTL leaps, perform recon, jam enemy systems AND deliver both strike teams and munitions on target, it is a multipurpose vehicle vastly superior to the Wiper in every way that counts. The highly trained team of pilot and ECO have saved the Fleet repeatedly, from finding water to finding Kobal, and have done so in a spacecraft that isn't even usually armed. The Wiper could be easily replaced by an unmanned drone piloted by a 14 year old who grew up playing video games (as is being done today in the real world). When the going gets tough you send in the best, and then bring on the Wipers to handle the rest.
Boo-yah!

Hell. It's special.

Yep, Shepard is correct as usual.
Ron Moore states this in the audio commentary of the mini-series. I'm going to buy the DVD one of these days (when I haven't higher priorities for my money) and check it out. That, or wait until it reruns.

Does anyone know if we're supposed to wear velcro or zipper bondage masks at this year's "Gay Biker Snuff Film" convention? I was thinking I might do a combo but I dunno know now? I'll be there when I'm not hosting the 28th annual alien abductee post-traumatic stress disorder help group.

No such thing as gravity. The "Earth-that-was" just sucks.
Go with the velcro. Zippers pinch & there have been reports of people accidently cutting their nose off.
Hell. It's special.

Gorram it, here I am trying to get your goat & you stay all polite & calm on me. Steal my joy why don't ya?
My friend has learned to do origami versions of the Firefly and the Viper. I have a fleet of both decorating my desk. I'll have him start working on a Raptor next.
I love how the Vipers in the new BSG actually obey the laws of physics & can spin and rotate with the thrusters. Now if it was just silent...
I also like how the older & newer versions have different joysticks.
Question: What the hell do the Vipers shoot? It looks like lasers & sounds like a machine gun!
Anybody have an answer?
Hell. Its special.

We only hear what the pilots hear, or what sound there is passing thru gas-anomilies, low orbit air molocules, and explosive expansions!!
That contentious 'nuff for ya?

Yeah, when we're inside the cockpit with the pilots I have no issue with sound (like when we could hear the cylon debris impacting Starbuck's canopy) but when we're floating in space & hearing the thruster vents & chain guns hammering away, that bugs me.
"In space, no one can hear you shoot other people." - me
And now I stole it from you:

Ain't it just?
Hell. Its special.
P.S. Thank you for being contentious. I feel better.
