The US Sci Fi Channel page has a feedback form and I just sent them another one saying how much I enjoyed last week's marathon, asking for more, also saying I enjoyed the John Doe show that was on right after the last Firefly ep they aired (OoG). (So they know I left my TV on.) (Which I did.)

The snail mail letter I tried sending them a couple of weeks ago was returned as undeliverable but I'm thinking now I'll just retype the whole thing on their feedback form. On a different computer so's they won't just say, "Oh it's her again". They're gonna hear from me some more.

To paraphrase a famously lovely man, completely out of context, "...Whether it's true or not, it's fun to believe.

Of course, it's only a small thing, but small things add up over time, eh? The way I see it, if Star Trek could come back, so can we. 'Cause let's face it, I loves my me Trek, but Firefly came out of the gate as good, if not better, than any of the Trek shows ever did. Imagine what Joss could do with a five season run....

Much, much better than Star Trek. I remember looking forward to the original Star Trek weekly show, evnying my neighbor who had a real *color* TV. Firefly is so lightyears far & away better and the best and even more better than that and, and, and... *oldfogey wanders off in a daze of imaginary superlatives all sadly inadequate to describe most fantastical, wonderful show ever created in the entire galaxy ever*

But you have to remember, Family Guy is animated. Which makes it relatively cheap to produce, so yeah, bringing that back was no big deal.
In fact, I believe that like The Simpsons and King of the Hill, Family Guy's animation is done overseas. In Korea. Which makes it really cheap.
When you have to bring an actual live show back? Especially a sci-fi/action/frontier hybrid? With cast, crew, studio space, etc? You're talking millions and millions...and millions of dollars.
Hey, I'd like to hope that Firefly is coming back too. But it ain't.
Me? I'm keeping the candle lit for a Serenity sequel or a full trilogy. Even if it's a made for TV Sci-Fi Original.

That reminds me. I should go thank SciFi for airing the marathon too!

To whom it may concern:

I want to thank you and your programming department so very much for airing that Firefly Marathon on March 10th.

When SciFi first came on the air, I was so excited to see an ENTIRE channel dedicated to my favorite genre. Through the years, you've included some really good programming. I've been working my way through purchasing every season of Farscape and was sorely disappointed when it was cancelled. I've been trying to get into SG1 lately now that Ben Browder's in it. Granted, it isn't Farscape, but it is growing on me slowly.

Then you picked up Firefly. I was not one of the lucky few who saw every episode on Fox. I only became interested in it once Serenity came out. (SUPERB flick by the way, blows the Star Wars prequels out of the water.) I now own Firefly on DVD but could not pass up the chance to witness Firefly in its original format. Your marathon last Friday gave me a chance to see Firefly like I've never seen it before. I absolutely loved it.

Please, please do this again. Firefly belongs on television. In fact, it should be continued and not just be 14 episodes. SciFi Channel would be an excellent place for it. My favorite channel and my favorite show, a perfect pair.

Keep up the excellent work.

Please feel free to 'borrow' anything from that. :)

Just a guess here...but I'm thinking that Galactica costs a sh-tload more than a potential episode of a new Firefly series.

Plus the most costly element of the show (after the primary sets are reconstructed) would be the effects...and wouldn't you know the company that does Battlestar also did Firefly. My point, Sci-Fi already works with these guys.

Now I love Galactica, but I think Sci-Fi realizes that Firefly would eclipse the stellar numbers they are getting for BSG.

If they spend it on BSG, they will spend it on Firefly. When dealing with a Firefly return on Sci-Fi, the animation/Family Guy/cost angle doesn't hold up.

Battlestar Galactica is a joint production between the US Sci-Fi Channel (owned by NBC/Universal) and Sky-One in the UK. That is why it is an affordable show for Sci-Fi. If a similar deal can be negotiated for Firefly then it is certainly a possibility.
