There have been a lot of Simon/Kaylee fics lately, and though I honestly don't mind (I'm hooked on many of the S/K series) I can see how this might be an issue for some. Though there aren't that many new ones being put out now, if you check the archives there are many fics centered around the other characters.
Kaynara's Strange Bedfellows, Bedlam, and Bed and Wine series are a great example of multi-character centered fan fiction. There is S/K pairing, but the predominant pairing is M/I (one of the best M/I pairings I've read). It's absolutly fantastic, you should give it a read.
Also, check out ManicGiraffe's Dinotales series if you want less couple-centric and more side-splitting hilarity.
And of course, you can always try your hand at writing your own stories. I've tried my own self, but quickly learned that I was never ment to write fanfic. At least not good fanfic

Hi there, my first post to the boards, been lurking and enjoying reading for a few months:-).

I've never really read any fan fic before so has anyone got a recommendation of a really good Firefly one to start me off with? Something with a real story, lots of humour and the BDH's just being themselves would be great.

There is a thread here somewhere called "Recommendations for a PICKY reader" (or something like that) which could be a good starting point.

Simon and River are my least favorite characters.

Yes...I love them all...but with 9 people you have to have at least one least favorite.

Who are yours? Please don't say you don't have one.

If you were to watch an episode and that person is barely in it and it didn't bother you...that is prolly your least favorite.

I completely agree with DEEPGIRL187. I dont even bother reading fan fic anymore. the Kaylee/ Simon stuff seems to me to be a bunch of sex novel knock offs. Not for me.

I read pretty much all the fanfic. My fave raves by far are you, amdobell, kispexi2, hawkmoth, and a few others who create involving story lines, remain true to the characters (!!!), and write very, very well. And those novel length stories...yes! Can't help but think that a partnership between you and mphillips would make the perfect graphic novel. Wishful thinking?
