There weren't any decapitations in the 'toon (well, one, but off-screen). It was set several hundred years into the future, where immortals had learned to pass on their quickening and knowledge without the beheading, in order to build up the strength of the "chosen one" central charcter. And it was much worse than it sounds.
And no offense taken. I'm well aware it's not everyone's cup of tea. And when Highlander gets bad, it gets bad like no-one's business.

Oddly, some of that news sounds downright righteous and some makes me a bit worried ;p
Big Highlander fan (spent WAY too much money back in the day on the Highlander CCG :) But that's one show I wasn't terribly upset about when it ended. Some of that last season was definately starting to turn sour. And there really should only have been one movie, of course. (Endgame wasn't terribly bad, passing the torch to Connor and all. But the second movie just plain never happened, and the third was... basically the first movie again. :) So I have to be a little skeptical of another Highlander movie, even it's written by Abramowitz. I'll still see it... but skeptically :P
Now if only we could get this sort of news for Firefly, I'd be in heaven. (Another movie, a series, a cartoon, a videogame... :) And I still want to see a Serenity theme park/ gift shop ;p

I'm more looking forward to the new comic book series that's coming out soon. It's supposed to take place about five seconds after the first (and only good) movie.

Lambert's not in this film (Connor being dead and all). Adrian Paul is the star (and Exec. Producer, and fight choreographer, and 2nd unit director). Though, Adrian Paul isn't scottish either (then again, Daniel Craig is the first strictly english guy to play Bond). Though the storyline takes the series in new directions, they say they're trying to maintain the spirit and themes of the series over the movies. Having David A. write it it, IMO, a very good step in that direction.
Oh, and... what's a ringer?

Yeah I know Lambert's character is dead. And I know that Adrian Paul isn't Scottish but he does have the accent right. Lambert still sounded Swedish. It's just that this new movie coming out sounds terrible because they're fighting a frikkin blue immortal monster or something. And I liked The Raven. Amanda was hot and it was a semi-ok show. Or maybe it sucked. I can't remember. I watched it late at night when I was real tired and my judgment ain't so good when I'm tired.

Thanks for all the info Storymark. I am looking forward to any new material for Highlander.
The Source movie & its "near future semi-apocalyptic" setting sounds a little too close to the 2nd Highlander movie (you know the one we all try to forget ever happened) for my liking.

You could say the same about Buffy. And I'm a ~huge~ fan of that show.
That being said, Highlander didn't ignite the same passion in me that Buffy did. I like it for the same reason I like Stargate SG1. It's funny, entertaining, much more inventive than the usual TV fare and is willing to make fun of itself. Still, I've never seen a Highlander version of Hush or The Body, and without that level of writing showing up at least sometimes I'll never get obsessed with it.
Explains why my only obsessions were Buffy, Angel, Firefly and Babylon 5....
