Oh, hey, yeah, well let me tell you that munchies are the best until you've eaten so much you feel like you're gonna burst, but you still want to eat. That's when enough is enough and it's time for more bong hits. mmmm donut...mmmm weed

Hmmm... read this thread last night, didn't much consider it, till I was asleep... bear with me... I dreamt that I was on a ship, and the crew had just discovered an amazing plant that you can smoke, and feel really really good from, *cough*cannabis!*cough*, but then after a while, you develop an insane appetite, and there just happened to be another ship passing by, so they boarded them and ate them. Thus, the origin of the Reavers.
Ok... I know that's pretty twisted, but in dreams, it doesn't have to make sense to be funny... kinda the same when you're high...

Yeah that is pretty twisted. I have never heard of weed turning a person cannibal. (there is a story out about a guy who fried his own toes and at them after sniffing butane.)
I would expect a weed induced crew to note the other ship and go "Wow. Look at the lights out there."
I can't believe what we have started here.
"Wash, where is my damn spaceship?"

It's a reach but maybe space cannibus gives you cannibalistic munchies.

See kids? Cannibalistic space munchies, just another reason to say no to drugs.

Cannibal and Cannabis are very close in spelling, and I think that's because eating people can make you feel high. Or maybe it's smoking dead people, I can't remember. Does anyone speak Latin?

No. It's the conjunctivitis.

No body *speaks* Latin per se, in any case...
Oh, my God! Who's flying this thing? Oh, right, that would be me...

Knowing Latin's not gonna be much help. I actually heard a professor of cannibalism talking on the radio not long ago. Cannibal comes from the Spanish word Canibales. And now thanks to the magic of the Oxford Dictionary I know that Cannabis is from the Greek word Kannabis.
How nerdy am I?!

I speak Latin. I learned it in college. Not really fluent, but well enough to order in a restaurant or ask directions or something.
