It's interesting to note that Serenity has never flown over an Earth-like planet with great oceans in the series.

Looks like the real thing--I just got a notification from TVshowsonDVD.com that they have the cover art, and that's what they show at the site. . . .

Me, I was hoping for a minimalist approach: just that brown leatherette look with the emblazoned Serenity line art.
But realistically, I'll look at the cover art -- good or bad -- for exactly 10 seconds anyway.
I suppose, from a marketing standpoint, it might actually be a good thing. It says "look -- this is science fiction," and may bring in new viewers where a cryptic or overly artsy cover may not.

That ain't the real cover, its a photoshop job.
I've seen this before, they use a temporary one to show on websites.
The planet looks like its ripped from a firefly fan site I once visited but I can't remember the name. Anyone else know the site?
Also, look at the firefly logo it's using some other font and starts with a lower case f.

That's the same logo that's on the defunct official website and message board, but the script covers do have the capital "F" form.

It's got to be fake, but why? Are you saying Fox purposely released a fake cover, or some fan did?
Since it's on Digital Bits and TvShowsOnDVD, it seems official, but....
I personally know graphic artists working for $12 an hour who could make something 100 times better in about 10 minutes.
I am confused.

Talking of cheesy photoshop stuff made in ten minutes, I was wondering if anybody was still interested in vcd covers.
I used to run (the now dead) trekvideo.com/firefly and hosted them there. If people are still interested and it's Ok with Haken, I'd like to finish the set and put them in the blue sun room.
I can't remember which episode I got up to but it was somewhere halfway.

just simply the logo and the glowing ship from the end of any epp.. do it all up with matalic reflective ink and stuff to so when you move the box its all shiny
not that they need to make the dvds shinyer its just would be cool
