I think you are on to something. We have all been touched by the sound in Joss' interviews and posts of being tired , a little depressed that it didn't go better and well, it makes us blue too. And we know what that feeling is because we all have had it, or get it from time to time. I know I do, I get very low about waiting. So... I think your idea is brilliant.
Over on the letter writing thread is Joss' address... or the agency or something. Let's spread this around the board folks, I think we should write Joss and make him understand that we still want more and we're still here and we're growing!

Hmm.. 3 million hits to the site, $50 a piece donated to the Return of FireFly fund.. Oh my that's a lot of production cash. (Hint Hint Hint) Heck, I'd sport $50 a month to get the show going again.

The creative people who make good TV and movies have really got to come up with a business model that allows the to continue to do so while cutting out the bloated overhead of the "traditional" big-media model. There's got to be a way to produce this stuff and deliver it to the audience in a way that cuts out the need for all the parasites and middle men.

One of Serenity's problems was that so many people did not even hear about it and if they did they did not know any of the actors or the director.

This may soon change.

Remember Nathan has a new movie coming out Slither March 31 USA

Nathan's next movie after that Waitress is in post-produciton.

Nathan's next movie after that White Noise 2: The Light is either filming now or almost filming.

Remember Joss is going to be doing two movies Wonder Woman and Goners.

So we may soon have a bunch more Firefly/Serenity fans because of the above.

Look on the bright side. 3 million people use the London Underground every day, including at least two million commuters and schoolchildren, half of whom seem to read (free) copies, which tend to get recycled from person to person too. Metro is distributed in other cities too (over a million copies all told). This is publicity. The more publicity the better. If even one or two people reading that interview see Serenity or Firefly in their local DVD shop and pick it up when they wouldn't ordinarily have picked it up, just because they've seen it mentioned in the paper, that's progress in the direction we all want.
