I was watching "Origin" and I noticed something interesting.
Select to view spoiler:
Throughout the episode, Connor refers to Mr. Reilly (his fake father) as "Dad" but at the end of the episode, when he is leaving Wolfram and Hart, Connor says "You gotta do what you can to protect your family. I learned that from my father.". This is the only time he uses "father" in place of "dad" in the episode that i noticed. Kind of like he is distinguishing between his real father (Angel) and his fake father.
Just a little something I noticed is all.

Yeah, good catch. Kinda like....
"....I am a Jedi, like my father before me."
Or maybe not.
People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss
" They don't like it when you shoot at 'em. I worked that out myself. "

Is it bad that Connor reminds me of Hayden's Anakin Skywalker? ;)

I wasn't liking the Connor character at all - he didn't invoke any sympathy from me as I think the writers may have intended. But I started loving him when he came back in the last season.
It's not just the heroic good guy thing either because I LOVE bad guys more than the good guys usually. Maybe it was the Buffy-like whining that turned me off...

"Appears they've cancelled the show and we're still here. What does that make us?"
"Big damn junkies, Sir!"
"Ain't we just."

Yeah I definatley think that he is distinguishing the difference. I like how it was written. That scene was played out just right. I had to do a double take the first time I saw it.
