Yea! These pre-order figures along with the sales for Futurama and Family Guy should eventually prove to the suits at Fox Television that they have no clue about their audience. A destruction of the Nielson system would be welcome too.

You can't order through Amazon.co.uk, but your UK Amazon account should still be valid on Amazon.com
Amazon.com are pretty good at getting stuff delivered quickly. I've just placed my order and, by Amazon's calculations, my DVDs should arrive just in time for Christmas! Shiny!
No customs charges - or at least, I've never paid any!

Book: “A duel?”
Wash: “With swords?”
Simon: “The Captain's a good fighter, he must know how to handle a sword?”
Zoe: “I think he knows which end to hold.”

What the go with "region codes" on the DVD's? They appear to be only region 1, but I am in Australia and we are region 4 Can I do something to my set top DVD player to make them work or will I be restricted to my DVD player in PC?

To make a long story short, Cal ?
Yes.. but it involves technical knowledge and some criminal activity, since it's technically illegal to "crack" a DVD (even one YOU BOUGHT!!) for use one your own player.
This is part of the whole media-control ballyhoo that's destroying the entertainment industry over here, really - so I am not 100% sure it's considered the next best thing to a hanging offense over on your side of the water the way it is here.
Good luck,

Multi-region DVD players are becoming more widely available, in fact amazon.co.uk currently have a special offer of 50 pounds for one.
We could wait months for a region 2 (UK) or region 4 version, if it ever comes out at all.
Thanks for the replies to my post - I'll order from amazon.com.

I told my mom in law she could take back (or KEEP) ALL my christmas presents - she ordered me Firefly on Amazon!!! YAYAY!!!
I am sure everyone who reads my livejournal must be sick to DEATH of my going on about firefly.
Anyone wants my firefly icons, you can find them on www.shadesiren.tk !!
I have never ordered anything on Amazon, but mom in law says they are great - that's the only reason I got to order them.. I hope she doesn't REALLY expect me to wait till xmas day to watch them....
