If you don't already know, several of the members of fff.net routinely (nightly) talk on the IRC channel #firefly. We're currently on the server "etherstorm.net" and someone is almost always there, although we don't usually don't start chatting it up until around 9:00 Eastern or so. We have, recently, become so self-involved that we felt the burning desire to make a website devoted to (what else) ourselves.
The site is being hosted at " www22.brinkster.com/numberfirefly/". Check it out if you find blatant self-promotion and other people's inside jokes interesting and maybe even drop by and say 'hello'. Rudimentary instructions are on the about page and if you post in the taglog that you need help, someone will almost certainly answer you.

There is always a good time to be had on #firefly. Where else can you discuss whether or not River is a psychic assassin, whether that is good or bad, waffles, akira fubuki, and the merits of curling all in the same night.

What a bunch of crap. You IRC browncoats are a bunch of hypocrytical snobs. You are mean towards new people, and when the Offical Board closed you were very rude to them. It's embarrassing.

I dont know who you mean by 'We'.. but I've heard directly from 3 people now that they have been harassed, made fun of, etc by certain people from FFF.net...(some people have an odd way of making people feel at home I guess)

We do make fun of people a lot, including and especially ourselves and each other (e.g. I am often referred to as being a 'cyborg'; see http://www22.brinkster.com/numberfirefly/F_quote.asp, et alibi for others). And while we do welcome those who lack a sense of humor or are thin-skinned, admittedly they don't always have a good time.

Anybody can have a good time in #firefly, you don't even have to be cool to get along with everyone (just ask HFK 
), although it helps. If you do come to chat, bring a healthy dose of self-effacing humor and an inflated sense of self-worth, and you'll do fine. Liberal use of sarcasm is encouraged.

2.) I believe theres a bit of difference between verbal sparring (making fun of people to their faces).. and back stabbing (pretending to be nice when their there, and then hacking on them when their gone..)

3.) keep in mind, I love FFF.net and the people here! It just irks me when I mention how great it is (to other browncoats) I get responses like "oh that place, people are mean there, I'm never going back"). The problem is this ummm 'rumour' seems to be spreading more and more :(
