In what order should I infect...I mean introduce Firefly to my family this weekend?

Definately the pilot. It sets the story, establishes the characters, and kicks ass, to boot. It's funny, has some good action, and is a well told story. Just about everything you could want out of a TV show was in the pilot. While it's not my favorite episode, it really is the best place to start.

Another idea I was thinking of for my brother is to show The Train Job and then show War Stories. I think he'd get the gist of the show.

Revelation in War Stories that would be anticlimactic if you saw the movie first.

I regret the hell out of not seeing the series before the movie, and any future Firefly fans that I can recruit will have the benefit of leanring from my mistakes. Of course, they'll have the three biggest regrets that I still have to live with: not seeing it when it was on TV, not catching Serenity in the theater, and always wanting more when we can't get it.

If you're crunched for time I'd go with Serenity the pilot then which ever is your favorite and end with Objects in space followed by the movie. However I would whole hearted recomend a marathon style watching of every episode in order then watch the movie just cause that's how it's supposed to be. Then I recomend repeating this process once or twice a month with non Browncoats untill our ranks out number those who are not in the 'verse.
WE WILL RULE THE WORLD!..........In a very nice welcoming manner that will destroy the need for war and everyone will have plenty to eat and be happy and Shiny forever.

my dad got the entire family hooked, me, mom, my wife, even my little sister...got me with the movie first and then strategic episodes from the series...then i watched everything form start to finish myself...savoring the special features & commentary...wishing bitterly that there was more...i spread the word to several close friends starting with the series from the beginning...not showing them the movie inspired them to go out and buy it immediately!!! any potential consumer would be much more willing to shell out $20 for the dvd rather than the $40 or so for the series...every little bit helps our beloved crew keep flyin'
