Has anyone experimented with making one of these devices (prop/toy not the real thing). I've been trying to get my mind around developing one and just can't work out how they actually did it (and the shots from ariel are few and not in great detail). If anyone has plans, a schematic, the genuine item, or would design one I would love hear about it or get the plans. Thanks.

I too am very interested in making one of these for my "blue man" halloween costume this year.

I would be happy with anything that closely resembled the device in its open position, although having it spring loaded somehow would be ideal.

so far, i have considered buying some bright blue colored pencils, and wrapping the ends with unmelted solder, or wire of some sort. then just afixing the pencils to a piece of plastic using some colored tape for decoration.

i have been unable to find any good pictures of the handle portion, but figurued i could fake it.

if anyone has any good pictures of the entire device, or any other design ideas i would love to hear about them.

if you could put a spring into a painted up tire-gauge...
