Hmm, I read TWoP regularly and I have to say that was quite an odd recap. Heavy on the philosophy and lit crit and light on the snark. It was cool and all, but I wonder what one of my favorite recappers would have done with it. This guy obviously loves the show and noticed little moments that I didn't.

Also, notice that the page header says "Firefly: Season 2, Episode 1"

I know, I was surprised by that too. I liked the philosophy and lit crit, though I haven't read the Tempest, so the whole Miranda bit didn't make much sense to me. (Guess this gives me a good reason to read it though...)

Yeah, I think I'm going to read it again with a mind to appreciate all the the mindful commentary and google the references I don't know.
According to the TWoP message boards, this is the kind of writing this particular recapper specializes in. I just kept waiting for the jokes to start! :)

Wow, that was...

Wow.

I know feel like I can at least slightly understand that movie - I mean, I got all the overt things, but the recap makes it so clear. It also made me cry, again. That's a grand total of...four weepings so far, which is three more than most movies get. And the description of Zoe begging Wash to get up as it "stretches out into forever" was so exactly what I felt at that moment, as everything went blurry and unreal around me, that I think this guy has River-esque reading powers. Damn him.

Also, it made me say "F*** yeah!" aloud, which I probably shouldn't have done, and truly explained why I suddenly love River - in her scenes, she is beautiful. When she kills, she's beautiful. When she's insane, she's beautiful. Thank you Summer Glau.

This guy got the series more than the others who recapped it ever did. I'm just going to worship him, now. Call me when the sequel comes out, won't you?
