I'm fairly new here, so please forgive me if this an old question. Just wondering if there is a way to determine how many members there are here.....I mean in total - i'd like to think the our numbers are in the 1000's.

Just trying to get the feel of this part of the 'Verse"

Actually, roll your mouse over each user's name (yellow all-caps link at the top of her posts) and you will see in the status bar a URL that includes that user's member number. Do that for someone who's just introduced herself as new and you'll have an idea of the number of registered users.

Keep in mind that perhaps half of those who register never return.

The current number is somewhere around 18,000. That suggests we are a crew of some 9,000 browncoats.

Gonna need a bigger boat.

Welcome AzBrowncoat!

You just kinda slipped in there, didn't ya? We don't mind, just no stow-aways on this ship. We're so glad you've found us in our little corner of the 'verse.

*hands over a shiny new browncoat*

Our usual quartermaster, FollowMal, would usually do this. But seeing as how she's off somewhere trying to find us a few more coats to hand out, I figured I'd hop in and make sure you didn't fall through the cracks.

But if FollowMal asks, Cap'n promoted me to assistant supply clerk...gotta keep our stories straight.

Most of the crew's assembled in the dining area, already stuffing their faces, most like. Hanoi Bun Bao on the table, so please come sit and enjoy. We always have something to eat for the new recruits. Others'll trickle in and offer their welcomes, let you know what's what.

Hope you enjoy yourself here. Doesn't matter how late or early you got recruited or wether you volunteered your own self, we're all in love with this place. It's home.

Kaele... Chindi tells me you've gotten a promotion-like from the Cap'n. That so? Hmmm. I don't 'member him tellin' me nothin' 'bout stripes needin' ordered.

And what's this I hear about Dog hidin' browncoats and holdin' them for ransom? For brownies??

Seems to me Chindi ought not have to do trash detail.... Cap'n'd be decidin' that... and if someone was to need to do trash detail, I'd nominate the Browncoat who would stuff 'coats in a closet myself.

But since the Cap'ns not here and this duty falls to me.... I'm gonna be magnaminous and.................hand out homemade chocolate chip cookies all around. Cuz I'm like that.
(Been spoiling laid up hubby and felt like sharing.)

Dog, there isn't any need to worry about how many browncoats we've got... I know that was your intention and it's a fine one, but you can quit hoardin' those 'coats since I've restocked the storeroom.

Chindi, extra cookies for you.... almost trash duty is a terrible thing. Especially on this boat!

I think Kaele did great. Thanks for the coat. Must say I am loving it on this boat. It is true what they say..."Have no place I can be, since I found serenity". The world is no longer the same. Not do I want it to be.
