How are they doing Mardi Gras, isn't it traditionally held at NO?

Just don't go for Democrate 98, it has system problems that cause it to download porn and illegally interface with system components.

It also has a tendency to perform port locks on some networked computers that aren't behaving to it's specifications, there also appears to be a problem with the Virus detection software, sometimes causing it to classify legitimate processes as illegal and nuke them.

It is happening in NO. They have had to make some adjustments to the normal run though. They had to cut the big parades down to four. That upset a lot of people. See, with the Dome out of commission, that left only one venue large enough to accomodate the larger krewes. Which meant only one could run in a day, instead of the usual two. The smaller parades are still running. But there will only be a few big events. My dad is in Endymion. One of the large krewes given the permit this year.

He says it's a mess and a little sad. But he wants to be there and try to bring the city back.

Oh, but look, CMS! Not only can play softball, you're a heavy hitter....

Scene: midmorning, on a sidewalk in front of TWG CoMiX. A woman leans against the wall, waiting for the shop to open. She watches the light traffic on the street, and people passing on the sidewalk. A second woman strolls up, and they strike up a conversation…
Limi: Hey, CMS! How was the game yesterday? You guys played the Whedonesque team, didn’t you?
CMS: Good game, we won 10-7.
Limi: Get any decent hitting in?
CMS: I got a couple runs actually, and stole second again, I was hot.
Limi: Good job! You've been smacking the ball this season.
CMS: My first up Coach has me batting cleanup. WildigsTart on 2nd, Casualison on 3rd. I got a single to right on the first pitch, but the fielder bobbled it, Cas scored, and The Wild One advanced to 3rd. Next up was Seryn, who hit a high fly to left center that dropped in the hole for a double, and I scored.
Limi: You’re a southpaw, aren’t you CMS?
CMS: Switch
Limi: You said 2 runs?
CMS: My second up, with Cozen on 2nd, I bunted and I might have been toast but the ball took a hop away from the pitcher and I got on first. Cozen advanced to 3rd. I left the base early, the catcher tried to throw down but I got to second standing up.
Limi: How many times have you stolen 2nd this season?
CMS: 7 so far. Anyway, PR was up next. He hit a single past short, Cozen scored, and I got to have a nice chat with that cute new 3rd base coach. Longer chat, turns out, because Dr Evil grounded out, then Citizen hit a pop fly the pitcher got under. Spinny was up next. He hit a nice single down the first base line and I scored.
Limi: Not bad, girl
CMS: My third up I was left on base, but Safe scored a bases loaded homer that inning, so all in all it was a good game.
Limi: It looks like this place is never going to open. I was hoping for something interesting to read, since it looks like it might be a while till Rel gets around to chapter 3. Do you have time for a cappuccino?
CMS: That place around the corner has a yummy chocolate mousse.
Limi: My treat.
CMS: Punky did the dance of 1000 bras.
Limi: She's such a maniac.

The women stroll off down the sidewalk together. As the round the corner, they pass several men, whose jaws drop in amazement at their style and grace.

And you two! ROFLMAO and a stitch in my side from the LOL about this OS extreme silliness! w00t! w00t! w00t! Computer geeks rule!

BWAHAHAHAH!!!

Limmy, thou art more funny than is normally considered healthy. Oh, that was funny!

Of course, I didn't understand half of it, but I got the gist.

If you ask if I'm a southpaw and I saw "Switch" what the heck does that mean? Does it mean I switch sides? Cuz I only do that in putt-putt. I can only swing leftie.

And IMHO, best part of all: "Costumes by Seryn".

lol!!!

And I'm glad you understood the men folk and their computer babble because I have NO CLUE again (could somebody talk about music or ancient greek or maybe even Firefly so I could contribute to a conversation maybe?) But I think we've established that I need some sort of Independent Party software so that my computer won't go all bi-partisan on me. Maybe something that edges toward Libertarian and that's very concerned with social welfare and the environment.

Oh, and somebody remind me to update the link to my LJ. It's changed and it's easier to remember, so of course I've forgotten it.

WHoo Hoo!! *Does the homerun dance*

Seriously, if you guys are gonna play like that, we need to get a mixed team together...

*Smacks Citizen* Bass ball?? Sometime the way my team plays it should be called basebrawl... I'm not proud of that.

My computer's a Postal 2.0; it promises to do the job in 6-10 days.

Is the homerun dance anything like the touchdown dance?

Oooh, speaking of sports (yes, I did just say that!) I went to my cousins' basketball game last night. It was very exciting. Play off game. The other team was obviously better, but our team tried really really hard and managed to lose by only 2 points. And that last point was a foul shot because our kids kept fouling out on purpose at the end so the other team couldn't score any more. The best was when one kid on our team bear hugged the kid from the other team who had the ball and threw him forward so he'd cross the line. It was funny!
Oh, and also the refs were crap. At one point, everyone on our side of the stands were stomping their feet and yelling "TRAVEL!! TRAVEL!!!" and the refs were just ignoring us. And then when the refs would actually make a good call, we'd all cheer and stomp some more. It was so bad I was noticing fouls the refs weren't calling. You KNOW that's bad. because I know [thismuch] about basketball.

I was trying to take pictures because my new camera claims to have a action feature, but it takes so long to snap a picture that you miss the good stuff.
