You have to wonder what the Fux execs think when they read these posts, because you know they do, or have a feeling of the animosity the fans of all their cancelled shows have towards them.

Knowing that, and seeing the potential I can only surmise the real reason they've not given up the rights is

1: Their stubbourne refusal to admit they were wrong, because then they'd have to admit what utter fools they were to have missed an opportunity like this, and as people who think they know what the audience wants to do so would be worse than any flailing we can give them. Nobody wants to admit they were wrong. Ever.

2: I believe there was animosity between the head of Fux and Joss, and that was a partial factor.

3: The costs for the show were high, and if anything has proven these days (non)reality shows are cheap to make, popular, and bring them instant profits. No actors to pay, no big sets to make, no need to even think about it when you watch. (The dumming down of society people)

4: The last is more recently discussed, Fux sees just how big this project has gotten, the DVD sales are bringing them lots of money without them having to spend one dollar for adverts, so it must be like laughing all the way to the bank for them. They won't give up those rights, not while they're making a tidy profit for nothing. Meanwhile as the fanbase grows and more DVD's are sold the price for the rights will go up, all sad truths I hate to think about. Oh, I believe they'll be willing to sell, but the amount will be astronomical.

In short, though it breaks my heart, I don't believe we'll have another series (and really, I don't know if I want one now. Wouldn't be the same) Movies are the way to go, and we'll get one. Everybody's fretting that Serenity won't make a big enough profit to make a sequel, Universal's already seen the numbers, are seeing the numbers coming in everyday, and they're already nodding their heads. I know this, because if Cheeper by the Dozen, Big Momma, and the dismal Final Destination can get sequel's made, then our BDS is in the bag. Just have to wait for the official word. Faith is good when you believe.

Yea, it's sad but true. The bigger the fan base gets the more money they make while not having to lift a finger. Us Browncoats do the advertising for them--every time you convert someone you're advertising for Fox

The more you watch it, the better it gets, episodes remain "Shiny", how is this possible??? I stopped trying to figure it out, I just keep watching!
