Just found this thread, thank sweet Buddha I'm not alone! Nearing the 40 mark and very proud of it (getting to the top of the hill just means that it's going to be easier to get back down than it was to get up).
I've always had friends much older than me, so I've been a little bemused at spending so much time (albeit usually lurking) on a board with so many young 'uns. I've developed several theories about people's interests in characters depending on their ages. I always crack up when the kids talk about Book and Jayne being old! (and was it just me, or did anyone else think that Ron Glass nearly stole the movie when Book made his appearance? I never knew a Shepard could look so sexy! I know, I know, it's the special hell for me. Although, that said, Jayne is my favorite.)
Well, nuff said,
squish

I'm a young'un, just 23, but my folks are both 55 and huge browncoats. And hey, they outnumber me.
Verrrrrry interesting, what broad appeal this show has.

So are we settled on silver brigade or should we go for platinum or titanium? Shiny and strong!
Let's just see what the good book says before we do what you were planning to do anyway.

I am 43 (ggrrrr) and love Firefly/Serenity. My mother is a fan and she is 69 turning 70 in September.
My first obsession with a TV show/movie was obviously Star Trek, then after that it was Battle of the Network Stars (hey, I was 14, hormones you know), then Star Wars. I saw Star Wars 42 times, it was so awesome, the special effects, the story line, Princess Leia (hey, I am still 14!). Space 1999 was another show I had to watch along with the original Battlestar Galactica. It is so hard to believe those were so long ago.
I loved LOTR, enough to give my last son a middle name of Aragorn. Of course his first name is Luke. Friday Night on SCIFI is must see TV in my house. Three of my boys want to watch all three shows but I usually send them off to bed before BSG. They are only 8, 7 and nearly 6. The 2 3/4 year old boy is usually in bed by then as well. I tape BSG and if it is okay, the boys watch it the next day.
My wife gets a little annoyed with my obsession but I tell her, I am not out drinking, whoring around, or doing drugs. I spend my time at home so let me have my little fun with an obsession. At least I am not constantly washing my hands.

I think platinum because that is a coin in the 'verse and it's worth more, of course.
