You know, on one level I kind of envy you. I mean you're gonna be able to go through watching these all for the first time. And The Train Job might possibly be the "least good" of all the episodes--which is hard for me to say, because every single episode, The Train Job included, is simply phenomenal.
My personal favorites are The Message and Out of Gas--one of which is towards the end, the other which is right in the middle. I just did another post somewhere else on how a person's favorite episode will reflect what aspects of Firefly/Serenity they enjoy the most, in aspects of plot, characterization, or general thematic atmosphere.
I predict your favorite is going to be... War Stories. Let me know if I got it right {^^}. KF

Lord, I'm walking your way. Let me in, for my feet are sore, my clothes are ragged.
Look in my eyes, Lord, and my sins will play out on them as on a screen. Read them all.
Forgive what you can and send me on my path. I will walk on until you bid me rest.

OK. I did that. I think I wound up in kansas. You wouldn't happen to have the number for a decent pizza place in Topeka would you? Cause I'm getting a bit peckish.

Welcome to the new guy, and a warning: this site is lousy with spoilers, so don't look too closely at anything until you've seen the movie (it may sound harsh, but trust me, you don't want to be spoiled).

Well, After watching through the Series almost non-stop and makeing it to the last Episode ive got to say the 40 Dollors was well worth it.
Although my favorite Episode was Objects In Space, War Stories would come in Second but Objects In Space was my all time favorite.
Now i cant wait to watch Serenity when FYE gets it in stock, I will probably watch through the Series agin sometime later on, Its a Show that gets you hooked no matter how many times you watch it it seems to only get Better and Better.

I was never a Star Trek fan, or rather, i was never a Trekkie. I have all of the Sherlock Holmes books, but didn't start smoking a pipe or wearing a dearstalker hat. I loved the first three Star War movies, but didn't start wearing a jodo outfit to SF cons.
Now there come's along 'Firefly'.
Aw...shoot. Okay, wear do I get a (vaguely Chinese sounding word) browncoat?
Lord help me, I'm actually embaressed at how much _fun_ I'm having watching the show and movie. In my list of best TV shows ever, there is: Twilight Zone, and then Firefly. (closely followed by: West Wing, Babylon Five, and Gilmore Girls)
What the Hell, think I'll make some popcorn and go watch it again.
Later!

Oh well, it was worth a shot. But after mentioning how much you liked Wash, I thought for sure that War Stories would at least end up in your top three, since Wash is so great in that one. Well, he's also great in Jaynestown, and Serenity Pt.1-2.
Objects in Space is a great one, but I actually didn't like it until my third or fourth time watching it. I thought Jubal Early was too silly of a character, and something about him struck me as cliched. Then I watched it a couple more times and he grew on me. Oh, and seeing River manage to orchestrate everything just through the intercoms was well worth it. KF

True, But ive got to change my mind on my favorite Episode as i just built up the Courage to watch this Episode after reading the Description so now ive completly watched Firefly.
The Message is now my favorite Episode as this was a very moveing and powerful Episode, I mean almost all of us can relate to loseing someone dear to us and Zoe and Mal had to go through that two times in a way when Tracey cameback.
Plus, This showed a side of Jayne that he hadnt shown before when the Camera pans over to him he is holding his Cap in his hands and starting to get a Sad sorta Face almost like he is about to cry. I beleve it was that scene that got me the most.
So here's my updated Top Three List.
#1 - The Message
#2 - War Stories
#3 - Objects In Space
