I agree that there shouldnt be any need for this OB vs FFF.net separation. And it seems like the only way to find out if this place can handle the volume requested is to just try it out and see.
I also want to point out that there are multiple boards (in addition to this one) that have been up and running, but deserted for many moons now. I rounded a few of them up and put them all in a thread titled:
Other Firefly homes
Also, I know this might be taken the wrong way, but flooding and spamming the main Fox board is no way to handle things. Remember how a few bad apples in the Dark Angel bunch pissed us all off by spamming and trolling our board and that basically gave a bad name for many other DA fans who had nothing to do with that? Well flooding the main Fox board is the same thing. Its one thing to go over there because you are really interested in that board, but its another to go over there and "take over". And remember, its not the end of the world, other board setups might be scary but they can be learned...you just have to be able to adapt.

Is it really so bad to move legitimate threads over to the Fox Forum after having been locked out of our own with no warning?
With the exception of one thread, I have seen no spam or troll threads. I have seen no slam threads or nasty attacks. Really, is it so bad that we prefer to use a board that is exactly like ours (minus the garish colors)? And we are all already logged onto? The Fox Forum has always been the back up board for when the OB went wonky. We all know where it is, we are all logged in with the same user names, we all still have access to email capabilites for contacting each other. So until we find better, or they give us back our forum, is it really so awful?

I saw multiple threads that stated an intent to take over or begging to bring back the OB or about how the Fox Execs cancelled the OB (which most of us know that the execs dont read boards anyway). Just because there are no nasty attacks does not mean that its not considered flooding.
And there is another prospero board that has been up for a long time, it uses your same logins. Its been dilligently run by a fan despite almost being deserted. I have provided a link in that other thread I spoke of when I was trying to be productive and point the way to some other options.

Yeah. Really depends on what the setup is. I did the same when people wanted a linear thread setup similar to The Bronze.

The only reason I never went to the official board is because I couldn't find my way around for the life of me. Haken's site was so easy to navigate, in my opinion. I also really like the people who come here... I think the Fox boards are hard to navigate, and I am surprised to see how many people find the opposite to be true. I guess we all learn something new every day!
I'm the same way. I couldn't stand the official board navigation. I don't know why the Official Board refugees are so nervous about comming here. Aren't we all Browncoats? It's not as if we're going to bite... hard.

Really tho, welcome new folks, and may Faux burn in the special hell for yet another spit in the face of FF fans..
We'll have our day, and Faux is gonna rue that day like no other - given their conduct towards the show from the start, and the rumors of delayed DVDs, this latest act of FF sabotage should not surprise us at all, really.
I am pleasantly surprised they haven't tried to sue Haken, and if they do I hope he kicks their butts.

Haken, maybe what would be best is if there could be a view where the top x number of thread titles in each section could be listed on one side of the page, and then the threads themselves read on the other. That would approximate the Fox board rather nicely, I think.

Wow. There were a lot of posts on Fawks Firefly Board. It would be amazing if your bandwidth could handle that much more traffic. Not to mention your servers!
The thing I always liked about the Old Board was that everytime I signed on and pulled up a frequently perused thread, I would get the first unread message at the point I'd left the last session. (This may be browser dependent.)
I also liked the Preview function, plus Edit.
Otherwise, both boards have equally fine upstanding folk and I would be happy to have them all on one flight.
Name suggestion? Independent Firefly Board.
I personally don't like anything that calls us "Original" (for reasons Haken pointed out) or "Refugees" or "Cast-offs". Let's be positive.
Damn! Being kicked off that board is really depressing. Hope everyone can come together here.
