I'm from melbourne, brand new browncoat. When I went to Minotaur in the city, the woman who works there said that Serenity/Firefly fans are absolutely rabid, and that she hasn't seen anything like it in all her time through the startrek/buffy/etc phases of sci fi/fantasy. So there must be a stack of us here.
And I tend to agree with the other poster about aussie repression. It's deep in our culture that we don't get excessively passionate about things and hassle people with them. However I have made it my mission to annoy as many people as possible about firefly/serenity now!

This thread has been done and done over the years but i'll play again anyway :)
I'm from Newcastle and I was the first Australian to ever see Firefly! Really! It was proven in other threads way back when.. I cant really prove it but I did watch Firefly on its very first run in the US so the chances are pretty damn good i'd reckon. Sheesh.. how long has it been.. something like 4 years now. Its painful to see all these newcomers saying lets get more Firefly happening, i've just about given up all hope except possibly for more movies, the timeframe with movies is just so damn painful.
It is good to see lots of people joining the Browncoat ranks but I cant help but wish they all joined the cause back in the beginning..
Pheew.. that turned out to be a bit of a rant didnt it.. Sorry bout that.

Haha, yes, I know what you mean.
All the posts like "right, this is enough - let's actually get a new series". People going through the same pain we all went through...
Perhaps there is some hope, I don't know. It sure seems unlikely though.
We can but hope...

Only started watching it when accidentally saw promo for Serenity on Fox (*spits*) Barely any advertising...all word of mouth.
We're doing our bit now. My kids and I rave about it to everyone who'll listen.

Browncoat from Wollongong here. 50km or so from Sydney. Goods news yesterday, tried to order the series (another copy wouldn't hurt, would it?) from the local video store, bugger me, they had sold out (lets out a cheer for his fellow browncoats)felt damn good. Good to see that you are finally getting plenty of posts.

Yeah I know.. I was lucky, about 5 years ago I saw a bit on "Entertainment Tonight" about a new Sci Fi show being made which they said was akin to Han Solo and the Millenium Falcon in the old west so needless to say I watched for it eagerly.
