I had never heard of the show here in australia until i saw an interview with writer on tv before movie release. Saw movie and loved it sooo much and instantly obtained the firefly series and can not beleive it was cancelled so much betta than soooo much other crap on tv. Love this show heaps and am as keen as everybody else to get it back.

The best part is that CW is likely to broadcast in Hi-Definition. If you haven't seen Firefly or Serenity in HD, you're truly missing out. The incredibly beautiful environments and costumes take on a whole new life.

As I understand it, it is the brand new ColumbiaWarner network, formed by the recent merger of of the Warner Brothers Nework and the United Paramount Network.

Aright. Who do we need to write to in order to support this IF they really are considering it?
We're Browncoats! Let's get pro-active on this!

From Joss himself (posted on Whedonesque):
"Serenity comics: Brett and I have been very very busy and it's rude of you to bring it up. But it's gonna be tight!
Serenity sequel! My phone is silent and withdrawn."
You can see it for yourself here:::

And also, there's this:
http://www.iesb.net/upcomingfilm/021406.php
I quote:
"Serenity rumors, there may be a sequel maybe not, what's going on…
JW: Still waiting to see how the dvd does, I'm not staying awake at night and holding my breath, I am happy with the movie, happy with the way it's been received, if somebody calls me and says let's make another one I will but I have other things to do in the mean time like be here. "
"Serenity movie, chance of it going on the Scifi channel or do you want a theatrical release?
JW: I want whatever's right for the story, if it was made for tv I don't have a problem with that, I love tv. I love tv movies when they're well made, I love tv series. I love that universe. If it's movies, whatever it is if somebody says you can do something on radio with these actors, you could do an awesome radio show, quite frankly because it's cheaper, but the fact of the matter is nobody is calling right now. You know the movie just opened, the dvd just came out, that's still happening. It hasn't even come out in Europe yet. So we are just waiting to see where the chips fall and then we'll see if somebody's interested in some permutation of this world, of these actors down the line, I am never not going to be interested. I love these people and I love the people that they play. But, I am not focusing on it right now, I am waiting to see. "
"Can I make a suggestion that doesn't involve violence? Or is this the wrong crowd?" (Wash)

Not to be too much of a fanboy, but the second quote is too "old/new" to remain relevant(by old/new I mean Joss wouldn't/can't talk about a CW project BEFORE the CW annouced a new project).
As for his latest comments on Whedonesque...now Cryptic Joss starts to make sense (i.e. UNIVERSAL has not called about a theatrical sequel).
The only wordsmith better than Joss is Bill Clinton.
Then again I could just be getting my hopes WAY up...but I am a Browncoat, and we do two things: Hope and the Impossible.
We will hold...we hold till Mal gets back...wait do you guys see something out on the horizon?

That's it! I have to stop checking these threads when I first get to work in the mornning. Now I'll be thinking about it all day. Totally ruined the most productive time of my morning.

Without getting my hoped up too much, all of this news sounds very positive
I really hope they don't go for a TV movie though, that would seem to me like a big step down from Serenity. A new series would be great though.
