Ah! So many Jayne quotes; so little time! Seems like every time he opens his mouth, either pure comic gold or pure raw sewage spills out....

The only liquid I see is the puddle of piss refusing to pay us our wage!

Badger: Won't deal with me. 'S taken an irrational dislike.
Jayne: *mouth full* What happened...'d he see your face?

Mal: You backed out of a deal last time. Left us hangin.
Jayne: *mouth full* Hurt our feelins.

Mal: Why didn't you turn on me, Jayne?
Jayne: Money wasn't good enough.
Mal: When it is?
Jayne: *little grin* Weeellll...that'll be an interesting day.

Can I start gettin sexed already?

Jayne: I don't know these folks. Don't much care to.
Mal: They're whores.
Jayne: I'm in.

Hey, I got a idea. 'Stead of standin around playin art critic, why don't we move away from this eerie-ass piece o' work and get on with our increasinly eerie-ass day?

River: Your toes are in the sand.
Jayne: And your head's up your--
Simon: HEY!

Jayne: *after River's cockney display* That right there? Exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.

Sure you don't just wanna piss yourself and run like you did with Badger?

Wow who'd of thought this would get so many posts- YAY Everyone Love's Jayne!!

Ohh and I have a new favorite
"If wishes were all horses we'd all be eatin steak"

Of course that's adding to pretty much every line he says ever.
He doesn't even need to say anything, just stand there

The human body can be drained of blood in 8.6 seconds given adequate vacuuming systems.

I've got two very favorites, aside from the classics already listed.

In the flashback from Out of Gas: *Shoots his buddy and takes an eager step forward* "How big a room?"

More than anything, it's that eager step forward that just gets me every time. And the second is in Heart of Gold, as the bad guys are closing in on the house. Jayne is poised and ready with the sniper gun, and Mal is watching the hover craft and the guy on the back with the gun and he and Jayne are talking through the com units.

Mal: First hurtle. Jayne, think you might-- *Guy gets shot off hover craft*
Jayne: Think I might, Cap'n.

That teeny tiny exchange just says so much to me about Jayne as a mercenary--He does his job and he does it well, gorramit--and about Jayne and Mal's relationship.

And of course, my little shipperheart loves: "I could stand t'hear more."

Jayne always cracks me up. But sometimes it's not justs the words - it's the non-verbal cues that go with it that make them soooo funny.

One of my favorites from War Stories:
Zoe: We’re gonna go get the Captain
Kaylee: Good....Can they do that?
Jayne: NO!

The look of disgust on his face is priceless - but is it because he can't believe that a professional like Zoe is really going to do this, or is it because he *knows* he owes Mal at least one life, so if she goes he's gonna hafta go too?

My other favorite from War Stories:
All the others are arming themselves to the teeth, and from the gantry you hear Vera charging up. They all look up in surprise.
Jayne: (quickly looking at his fly) What!!!

Cheers,
Johnboy

mmm... yeah... just standing there...

i loved in the BDM when they were talkin' 'bout the "safe word" that simon used, and just as simon starts to explain, jayne freaks out: "well don't say it!" and jumps up, trippin' all over himself.
and then when told that the "safe word" only works on river, he says: "well, now i know." and sits back down.

Don't forget the classic Jayne/Wash double play from 'Shindig':

Jayne: We was about to swing into action, Cap..a complicated search-and-rescue op.
Wash: I was going to watch. It was very exciting.

Zoë: You sanguine about the kind of reception we're apt to receive on an Alliance ship, Cap'n?
Mal: Absolutely. [pauses] What's "sanguine" mean?
Zoë: "Sanguine". Hopeful. Plus, point of interest… it also means "bloody".
Mal: Well, that pretty much covers all the options, don't it?

I'm on watch tonight; got maybe two seconds to add my personal two-cents worth . . . .

"Pretentious . . . . . ?"

There is something deeper to Jayne; I aim to find out what. Could take a big shovel, tho'.

~I'm old enough to be in his bunk!~

"The hero of Canton, the man they call... me!"

"The living legend needs eggs."

"Can I know her?"

The part in Bushwhacked where he's being questioned and just sits there with his arms crossed. Staring...

"Something about that is downright unsettlin'"

"Sick people is high-larious"

When talking about the canton townsfolk hero-worshipping him: "Don't make no sense."

more later

"Gorramit Mal... I've forgotten my line."

This isn't one my favs (I think y'all covered the ones fit for this topic, or at least all the ones I could conjure), but I figured it was worth mentioning because of the good interaction between Mal and Jayne.

Mal: How drunk was I last night?
Jayne: I don't know, I passed out.

I think this shows that Jayne is the only crew member Mal can be a "guy" with, or maybe just moreso than the others. Their expressions are sweet too. And can I mention how I just love that Mal means bad in Spanish. That's killer.

And what's the one where River says Jayne is a girl's name? I can't remember how that one goes...

Jayne is just fantastic, even though he is a greedy bastard.

I'm a leaf on the wind. Watch me soar.
