After a long day at college...

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Firefly the movie !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am SO happy now !!! I knew Joss Whedon will succeed !! I hope the whole cast returns. And it becomes a successful movie, and wins lots of awards ! And then FOX execs who decided to cancel the show will be fired !!!! and be replaced by ppl who know how to treat brilliant tv shows ! And kill all those reality shows !

This is fabulous news indeed!!

I love the fact that Chris Buchanan (Sp?) mentioned that we browncoats managed to sell out Pre-sales in 24 hours!

I've be saving my pennies to see this movie many many times in the theater!!

Yahooo!

I just heard yesterday on Access Hollywood (I watched soley due to a story on Def Leppard) that NBC and Universal are planning a merger ( http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-vivendi3sep03002430,0,7608972.st
ory?coll=la-headlines-business
), so maybe NBC could pick up Firefly for TV if the movie does well?

If so, that would be very shiny!

Doesn't Nathan Fillion already have a contract with NBC? Since Alligator Point didn't seem to work out, wouldn't it be great if Nathan fulfills his contract as Capt. Reynolds?

I think it's time to start bombarding NBC with postcards about Firefly.

I believe that Joss said that he would not do a Firefly movie unless he had the original cast, so maybe we don't have to worry too much. Maybe he has talked to everyone and it's all in the bag (along with the cats?)

What a ! Yeepee yah!! ...Doing a war dance of happiness. Firefly keeps on flying!!! What a way to start of Spring here in the Southern Hemisphere Could anyone enlighten us non USA fans as to whether this will a be made for tv movie or a motion picture? Either way I don`t care as long as Serenity keeps flying. Just hope they keep the original cast..it going to be hard seen mega movie stars taking over our beloved crew`s roles.
Lotsa kudos to all the Firefly fans and of course Lord Joss for keeping the faith! Groovvvyyy!

Whoa man! This is so insanely GREAT!!!!!
Okay -- probabilities here:
Look at the numbers (that's what studio execs do)... The pre-order Firefly DVDs sell out in < 24 hours on Amazon... Tons of people on this sites and other sites just like it announce they're gonna spend beaucoup bucks seeing the Firefly film multiple times (yeah, I know I will, at least 10 times minimum)...
This bodes well for an ongoing Firefly movie franchise, does it not?
Isn't this exaclty how the Trek film franchise and the Bond and the Star Wars movie franchise took off? People kept buying the merch. They kept going to the movies multiple times.
If the Firefly movie does indeed make megabucks, and I personally intend to phone & e-mail everyone I know and urge, nay, harry & chivvy and browbeat , them to go see the Firefly film when it opens...then it seems likely we could have a whole string of Firefly films.
And then what?
Maybe...just maybe...some O*T*H*E*R network (I will not use the F-word, F*X) might decide there's gold in them thar 'verse 'n pick up a Firefly series spinoff from the Firefly movies...?
Weirder things have happened. I mean, the original Trek TV series became a series of movies that did so well they eventually spun off a whole spate of new Trek TV series. Which are still going. So it ain't impossible.
All it needs is massive fan enthusiasm and huge amounts of fan networking. And, oh, wait a minute--I think we've got that covered, don't we?
Hallelujah, Joss! Ya done good, boy!

joss gets to direct a feature film! he's always wanted to do that!

i'm just lucky that no one was in the office when i got this news, 'cause i got all bouncy

who knows? maybe in the end, the cancellation of firefly was a blessing in disguise. now he's forced to get into the meat of the story faster and he gets to start a film career! how cool is that?
