So many of our Scifi TV series are riddled with "aliens" and other unrealistic entities.
Serenity/Firefly doesn't lead us on with this. Or it would become another Star Trek clone.

Characters make a story and illusions make a background.

Serenity succeeded in showing us that the only enemy is the monster of the "ID" as told by Morbius in the "Forbidden Planet" THE MONSTERS THAT WE CAN BE.

Reavers were us in the beginning and humans created them. We can be angels and we can be monsters but we are all and have been human,

Serenity never lied to us. It showed us no great fantasy. It showed us humanity in it's most delicate and sometimes savage form.

There may be aliens out there but Firefly/Serenity showed us something that was and is reality.
Leave the aliens to Star Trek and let's fight the big networks aka "The Alliance" for betraying the Browncoats. Scifi are you listening we are ready for you to take us in

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

Nice post!

I love that Bladerunner quote, too. But remember, We are just too pretty for God to let us die, right? :)
