*does dance of joy*

*does it again*

I've had a craptastic week. Awful. But at every stumble, there was someone to pick me up. *plays Golden Girls theme song* The week has turned into something decidedly good.

*continues dancing....like a loon*

I feel the same way, TWG!

Don't know what I'd do if I didn't have all you lovely browncoats keeping me going!

I passed my driving test this morning!! YAY!

I've had pretty crappy week, and I've been ill and feeling a bit pooped out. But today rocked!! And my optimistic and bubbly self is now back with a vengeance!

I think it must be February, such a crappy miserable month. Makes everyone miserable who then go on to make more people miserable. So every morning why not just think of something to be glad of, and then go make someone else happy!

Seriously, congrats, dude!

February is indeed evil. It's the birth month for both me and my wife, but it's still evil. Bad things happen in February. Baaaaaaaaaaad.

*vaguely*... Did someone mention bagpipes?
*remembers old guide to one of her favorite books Ever...

'The bagpipes have a long and noble tradition in Scottish warfare, and an equally long and ignoble one in the field of music. A set of bagpipes looks like a medium sized mammal being tortured to death with large sticks, and makes roughly the same noise. The effect is terrifying. The only sound worse than the bagpipes is the same number of pipes distributed between a group of ten-year-old girls in the form of a recorder lesson.

The joke about the octopus and the bagpipes has many forms, due to the bagpipes also looking like an octopus that has been dressed in tartan and then been force fed Viagra. The main feature of all these related jokes is that they aren’t very funny…

*decides to carry on*

Winnie-the-Pooh

Winnie-the-Pooh is of course a bloody revenge tragedy, unaccountably bowdlerized by Disney… Rumors of a forthcoming live action version directed by Quentin Tarantino are pure speculation.

Pg 150 – Croquet

As has been remarked upon at some length in other guides croquet is a game played on English lawns in the summer time. It’s a vicious game where attacks on your opponents’ balls are perfectly acceptable. As seems to be the case with many minor English pursuits the number of rules seems to vary roughly in line with the number of people trying to play. Nextian Croquet seems to have even more rules, although possibly less Pimm’s.

White Star Line

Owners of the Titanic, a ship famous for a: sinking and b: spawning a truly terrible movie. There is a six word synopsis of the movie:

“Rose!”
“Jack!”
“Rose!”
“Jack!”
Glug.
“Jack!”

ok, i'll stop. Had bloody rotten week, but for no particular reason, they just all seem to be like that lately, but at least this one ends well, I'm off to a masquerade ball on saturday!

My college had a Scottish connection, and bagpipes were the instrument of choice for aural torture. I lived in a neighborhood behind the college for years and years, and bagpipe practice was traditionally held in the parking lot spiiting distance away from my backyard every weekend morning. Practice started as early as local law allowed. Ahhhh, the joys of the pipes are emblazoned on my brain.

*random weirdness alert, Hobbesians beware*
I had a great week, though someone smacked my car in a parking lot and ditched. I'd been reading about Kabbalah and was thinking about precognition, and how it's one of the things I don't reach for because it seems fraught with the dangers of ego traps. I pull into the parking lot and think, *hmmm, where to park*, and I get this tiny little bump of 'left side' which I ignored because it was raining and the right side was closer. I wasn't in the store 10 minutes, and when I got out somebody had left a whocking big dent in my door. Then yesterday I was thinking about that little mental bump I'd gotten to park on the left, and realized that, yeah, there could be ego involvement in holding myself apart from precognition. Bwah haa haa. The slipperiness of ego.[/random rant]
