... What's a "ship"? ... exactly? Obviously not a thing flying through space, at least as far as this thread is concerned.

Wow, a whole month and nobody has mentioned River/Jayne? 
I don't know why; but even during the original run of the show it seemed that there were possibilities for something between the two of them.
I could stand to hear a little more.

Both when she faints in the Lilac trading station and when they're at the Maidenhead, it's always Jayne who goes to help her first.
For some reason, I can also, sorta see Mal/River or Inara/Simon. But, I definately like their canon ships.

Haha, creepy. I myself am a fan of canon ships, but ones that I enjoy are Jayne/River. Initially, this weirded me out. But after reading a few fanfics I've grown to love it. I also like the Mal/River one, too. Like someone said before, they're the most damaged characters.
Although it is way popular, and I can totally see why, I really can't read anything Kaylee/Jayne.
It's interesting reading everyone's preferences, though.

With non-canon, that may be. I some how doubt it. Inara calls Kaylee "mei-mei" sometimes, right? Little-sister? yeah. weird...
I'm pretty much a canon ship person (as is misskitten, I believe, when reading her fics). I can't really see any relationships happening other than the canon ones.

I love the idea of Mal/River. Maybe that's just me - feeling most like River, and loving Mal the best - but I also think they could be good together.
I also have a soft spot for Simon/Inara. Just a couple of little scenes, and the fact that their upbringings and qualities are so similar. Plus, they'd produce the most beautiful children.
