I felt really old when I watched my son get married last Friday.

Listening to the radio the other day, the DJ decided to play Groove is in the Heart by Dee-Lite. It's a catchy tune, some people despise it, but I can't help but tap my toe when it's on, remembering how we all loved it in high school. Song ends and the DJ says "16 years old and that song is still a lot of fun." I literally just sat there in wonderment thinking 'was it really that long ago?'

Lots of things make me feel old.
At the moment, this time of year....I'd say realizing it's been 20 years since 'The Super Bowl Shuffle' was on vinyl.

Looking at a toolbox full of SAE tools know they are completely obsolete for automotive work and remembering how many years I used them.

Making the remark with a time refference to the Johnson administration and getting a blank stare from a coworker and knowing that he/she may not even remember the Reagan administration.
Knowing that I was alive when JFK was killed.
Having friends my age who are grandparents.
Asking myself why the USA still hasn't gotten the Metric system yet.

Speaking of which, hearing people referring to "A New Hope" or "Episode IV" instead of "Star Wars", not to distinguish it from the rest, but because that is what they know it as...makes me feel old.

The other day, I was bored, sitting around nothing much to do (sad life indeed). I usually pull out one of the ole Firefly DVDs or Serenity and pop it in. However, since my daughter and wife are not nearly as obsessive about the 'verse as I, I decided to take pity on them.
I pulled out an "old" VHS tape and popped it in. It was the last VHS that my wife and I purchased and I frankly forgot we owned it. I pressed the [PLAY] button and settled in to watch my re-found movie. As the soft sounds of the flute played through my speakers, I suddenly had an attack of age perception.
I grabbed the VHS box and stared at the date printed on it. For some reason it only seemed like yesturday, but I was just floored by the fact that "Titanic" was released almost 9 years ago.
Time flies when you're having fun I guess
