Firefly model kit in the works

Thomas Models, a company known for its excellent line of Trek-type resin kits, model conversion kits, and accessories, is working on a model of our favorite ship. After working up a plan for "114 resin parts, 4 clear resin, 4 clear vac form, 185 photo-etched brass parts, plug n’ play animated drive lighting, and color decals in glorious 1/87 HO scale," plans were later scaled back to 1/120 scale to make casting easier and the price more reasonable.

Something is wrong in the numbers given on the link. If the original was 150 feet long, that's 1800 inches. And if the FINAL model is 20" long, that's about 1/90 scale. But the text sez the final scale will be 1/120, which makes for a model only 15" long.
I suspect a skilled modeler could scratch-build one of these from balsa (non-flying, that is), though it would be a huge project. It took me about a year to scratch-build a flying RC Fokker DVII. I suspect the non-flying aspect of this one would take less time. Cost would be much less than a C-note -- but one must have the skills.
Personally, I'd like to build a quarter-scale model, but don't really have the room for it.

Serenity is 191'L x 128'W x 53'H.

Thanks to you and DonCoat for the length. Seems like I saw it yester at 150, but have NO idea where.
Addenda: The Wikipedia CUTAWAY has the overall length as 190 ft, 0 inches.

Thanks for the link - was jsut thinkin' how shiny it'd be if some skilled architect out there, who happens to be a browncoat his/her self, would do a set of blueprints - sorta like the old Enterprise sets that were floatin' round when the the Star Trek movies renewed the that franchise...
