sounds lovely.

...I haven't tried yet, but I do have plans for a certain someone to get into a corset. Oh yes, I can be evil too.....can't forget the suspenders and stockings.

ok chuck, when you have the time, cheers

I found it! I did find it all by myself! http://www.vertetsable.com/demos_shirt.htm Actually, pretty much the whole site is worth a looksee, some of the diagrams are a tad over complicated but on the whole its really very good.

yey! that shirt in a lovely light wight cotton or evne a sheer would cover up the bits that need it but still make a lovely feature of your neck and well, we'll let the boys think about that

That is nice, and I think I have a pattern for a shirt similar to that.

It's a bit technical. It might be a bit over my head.

aye, it could be a little more clearly explained.

But if you already have a pattern then that shiny.

I have no idea where the pattern is now, but I did make one similar. Only now that I think about it, I think it had a collar and buttoned cuffs on the sleeves. It was several years ago.

I may just have to buy a new one, they're not hard to come buy. And finding costume patterns is easy.

I'm sure you're probably thinking "NOT McCALLS!! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" being a costume guru, but for the rest of us lowly peons, it's what works.

Do you even have McCalls in England? They're the patterns you buy out of the drawers at the fabric section of Walmart.

We do have McCalls, but to be absolutely honest I have no idea how bad or good they are because I can't understand the buggers!

Crazy as it seems. I mean I can make up a block (the start of a pattern, with out seam allowences etc) from a list of sums no problem, I can copy and scale up a pattern from a bitty little diagram in a book, I can even look at a photo and draw a rough version of the pattern for it off the top of my head. Can I get my noodle around a shop bought pattern? nope, not a hope in hell.

My brain is just peculiar in that respect. So anyone how can actually produce something from one of those things has my undying admiration...

hey, the boning arrived today!

yey! (thought I was going to have to wait for months)

Had to pay an extra 9 quid vat on it like, which was incredibly annoying, but apparently I was 'unlucky'(story of my life)

(the bad news is the're a bit thinner (i.e. bendier) than the ones i'm used to, so it means i'll have to make up yours before I can tell TWG yes or no to hers, if she still wants one. I was planning to half bone them (one empty space between each bone) but I may have to but them all up together to get the strength.
The good news is that the 'mega-busks' (incredibly strong bones for the middle) are so strong you could use them as a diving board, so get ready for the flattest tummy of your life!

well, onto pattern drafting!

I'll make up that list of the measurements I need, tomorrow (i'm out tonight) and send it to you, you'll need to pm me your email address.

I wont actually make it up yet, i'll save that till after easter when you've lost what you want to, but it will give me an indication of how many bones I will need.

And then next month I can go fabric shopping! yey!

Yay! The boning arrived.

Now, explain to me again why you had to order this special boning from Canada?

I am VERY excited about this. I have 3 things to look forward to: D*C, S3 and Corsetty goodness! Yay!!
