I just finished watching the first season of Firefly...I only ever watched one episode when it was on TV (which was GOOD)...but DAMN...now that I've finished..why did they cancel it???

I'm hurt ::pissed::

Isn't the pain awful? It might help a little if you buy Serenity when it's out - just as a final hit of Firefly... but it's so depressing knowing that there's no more.

I still remain hopeful that one day, in the future, there will be a revival.

We feel your pain.

Welcome to the site! Please stick around and discuss the ‘verse with us. And to help soften the blow of cancellation, there is some great additional material out there, in case you aren’t aware.

If you want more of the ‘verse, there is of course the Big Damn Movie, Serenity, out on DVD (in case you haven’t heard of it ). And there’s the “Serenity” comics, collected in a Trade Paperback that’s just out; they’re co-written by Joss Whedon and cover the time between the series and the movie. Then there’s the River Tam Sessions, short viral marketing clips that Joss filmed in the lead up to the BDM. Each is only one or two minutes long and they can be found here: www.session416.com. They purport to be security footage of a series of “sessions” between River and a doctor at the Academy. They’re fun and fascinating to watch. Finally, there’s an unfilmed “Firefly” shooting script, “Dead or Alive,” here on FFF.net at http://www.fireflyfans.net/feature.asp?f=45.

And after watching you ran right over to the computer to see if anyone, anywhere, someone....had more information on Firefly right?

Ouch...its like feeling the pain for the first time again just thinking about it. (but Im still a Newbie...spiral into addiction birthdate: Dec 25th, 2005)

I almost feel bad turning anyone on to FF....it has to come with a warning..."at the end of viewing this DVD set you may experience pain, anger, suffering, wanting, yearning and the excessive need to spend your life searching for more Firefly"

Why did they cancel it? (Correct me if Im wrong anyone) because FOX put it on Friday nights (always a risky move for a new show) played the episodes out of sequence order(confusing viewers)..., and consistanly preempted it for the baseball play offs/World Series.(even if you wanted to watch, you couldnt find it)

No one watching=off the air.
