Oooh, that's lovely.
I've never planned out my dream wedding, though I do have ideas (as we all do). I did, once, years ago, find this dress that I absolutely adored. I still have the picture of it and I still think it's just the neatest dress EVER.

So maybe I can lobby for a corset before cubed rolls around...maybe? Talk to SimonWho, he's usually my go-to-Brit. Kinda of my overseas manager...heh. He'll take care of everything for me. *looks around* Or maybe not. He seems to have left this discussion.
That is the best site...i want those corset cuffs. Gorgeous. Love both of your wedding selections. I'm more of a Funny Face wedding gown type myself. Short and flirty...actually have a little dress just in case someone ever sweeps me off my feet and I have the need to run off to a sun drenched island with him. *cough* Takers? Anyone?

oh you'll have to post it sometime.
I looked for that period shirt pattern, my link is dead, so i'll have to go search it out
*whacks side of head hoping it works like a T.V.*
damn stoopid memory.
period shirts are really simple, its just the gussets - get them wrong, especially in a corset and you cant do much more than flap your arms like a demented penguin.
not that demented penguins ain't the pinnacle of fun.

Hey again. So go on, choose a colour, any colour, I found some great black braid the other day, that with a really deep blue red or purple would look fab, or even a really lovely shiny deep bronze, maybe picked out in places with seed pearls, ooh, they have grey pearls on ebay, that would look great on Serenity's. I found some lovely emerald-green-shot-through-with-black dupion silk in my fabric bag, that with some of the black braid and maybe black crystal drops.. would look a little saloon girl, but I could cope... or maybe just black pearls on a charcoal coloured satin...
*Helens head explodes with the thoughts of all that delicious fabric*

I have something to contribute.
Really!
You know I do historical reenactment. We often have to make our own costumes. Well my other half has made more than a few bodices and I didn't sitt around a watch, but she did tell me this trick.
Getting measurements for a bodice. You need a t-shirt, a whole roll of tape and a assistant. Have your assistant tape you into the t-shirt in the form of a bustier. Then cut the shirt up the back to remove. Voila! This form is your exact shape.
Bet you didn't expect that.

Thank you!
Not sure how effective it is, but if SR's girl gives it the thumbs up then you can try it if you want to.
Any more comprehensive instructions? where do you start from etc etc? I would guess at the waist and work up, but please tell...

Dunno Seryn, if you keep taking orders for corsets, you could pay your way to D*C.
TWG-if you get a corset, you'll have to be a pirate with us! I could see you in a lovely green one, or maybe bronze like Seryn was suggesting.

well, if my ticket is taken care of, then its just my share of the rooms and food. would people feed me in return for corsets?
My only other worry now is affording S£, in the same month no less. Do you think Sean would like a corset making for him in return for my S3 ticket?

ok, so in my mind people tend to look like their avatar, until I see pictures of the real them, so...

I would love to see Sean Mahoer in a prett pirate corset!
course, I like men in corsets and stuff.
Well, as for the color, I love greens. The smokey stuff sounded pretty too. I'm not gonna be picky about that, sale fabric is good. I don't want to put you out trying to find a color that doesn't exist. I would be happy to pay what you're worth.
...Yay! Three pirate lasses roaming S3! I can't make DragonC*n, sorry. But cubed will be super cool!

you wouldn't if you'd ever tried to actually put a guy into a corset. Yikes can men moan!
Still, it was an experience.
S3 should be fun fun fun, I actually have a length of green silk, lightly shot through in black, in like a fine dupion weave, so its a low key shine, as opposed to glossy glossy satin or taffeta.
does that sound nice?
