And Miami Vice!
And I met my wife that year!!!

Alas, the American DVD of Outland is go-se, the non-anamorphic widescreen is jumpy due to the poor transfer, and the full-screen is a mite pixel-y (although entirely watchable), you Brits no doubt have an anamorphic and beautiful R2 dvd at your disposal...

And anamorphic Dark Angel...Chrisisall

I love outland. I believe Aliens was mentioned somewhere, and I have heard that it 'unofficially' takes place in the Aliens universe, though how true that is I don't know.

How weird.

I was trawling through HMV just yesterday, and happened upon a copy of Outland in there. I remembered watching it years back, and it occurred to me that it shared some common ground with our Firefly, coming from that whole 'space-western' sub-genre. Never even thought about it before. So I bought it to watch again at a later date.

I log on today, and spot this thread. Spoo-kee!

Is your copy anamorphic? I bet it is. You UK peeps always get the best lookin' dvd's (if a little late)

I remember Outland, loved it too. Don't see it much on the movie cable Channels but I record and watch it every time its scheduled. Never thought about it but now that you mention it, it was like the town Sheriff standing up to the outlaw gang coming in to kill him off.

I've never actually seen OUTLANDER, but when I saw this thread, mymind flashed to CHILDREN OF THE CORN and the famous "Outlander" quote, which was used in SOUTH PARK.

"Outlander!! We have your woman. Her blood will spill, outlander. Outlander!!"

Oddly enough, I think if FIREFLY had continued, they would have found a way to use that phrase mroe or less.

"YES!!!I'm a man posessed by many demons....Polite demons that would open the door for a lady carrying too many parcels...BUT DEMONS NONETHELESS!!!! Yes. I have walked along the path of evil many times, it's a twisting, curving path that..actually leads to a charming plot garden, BUT BEYOND THAT EVIL!!!"
