strange strange article, neither serious reporting or fashion statement...

besides, a well fitted corset leaves nothing wobbling - unless you want it too of course...

there, that said...

you're blonde arn't you Serenity? Bright sky or azure, or turqoise blue would work, if you wanted muted colours a pale duck egg or wedge woody kind of blue would tone really well with all kinds of browns, especially buttery golden browns.

hmm, describing colours is harder than i imagined.

Seryn-turquoise is my favourite, but I don't care so much about the shade, I'm sure you'll pick out something pretty. Besides, isn't it easier if I let you pick the fabric, see what you can find?

Oh, and I like the idea of the buttery golden browns with the blue. That looks very pretty in my head.

I was going to paint my room in shades of wedgewood blue at one point in time. That was a few years ago and at a different house.

if i'm going with a satin taffeta I can get pretty much any colour, it just a case of regular stalking. Its more so I know what kind of blue as opposed to the shade. I mean I dislike pastels and only allow small amounts of brights, but I love smokey muted and creamy shades.

yes boys, there is a differnce between 'creamy' and 'pastel' but only if you're me. Hee hee

I guess I was thinking more of the period shades, where the robins egg blue or the wedgewood would be very appropriate. The shades you tried to describe all sounded fantastic.

Also, you know the blue coat that Elizabeth's dad wears in Pirates of the Caribbean? That shade is gorgeous. I want his coat, I love it. With all the gold lace and whatnot.

I like bright colours, but they don't seem appropriate for this. And creamys are good. (And I agree, complete difference between creamies and pastels. Not so fond of pastels myself.) I don't know how I feel about smokey colours.

These are hard decisions. Too bad I can't go fabric shopping with you.

So pretty much, I'm leaving it all up to your expertise, since you're the costumer and I'm the girl with a sewing machine that made a halloween costume once.

Oh, and I totally and completely mean to pay my share.

as if I needed an excuse...

so period colours, and if you are going for buttery brown you would probably be best with an antique gold braid to trim - it will work if the blue is warm enough, i'll keep my eyes peeled. Yeah, it would be nice to have you go shopping with me, but...

And theres only three years and peice of paper separating us, honestly, you sound like you know what you're on about.

Yes! Antique gold trim would be lovely. I just don't ever wear anything actual gold. Real gold, the yellow stuff. It looks terrible with my skintone (I'm a cool summer, in case you cared) so I always wear silver. But the antique gold with a golden brown skirt (or even a print, if I could find a good enough one) and maybe a stripey petticoat, if I can find one that has a good blue stipe in it.

Oh, only one problem. My boots are black patent leather!

Oh wait, problem solved, I can wear my suede lace up brown ones. That would look great

Hey, what size shoes do you wear? Cuz if you wear a size 5 in UK (I THINK) or a 7 or so in US sizing, you could wear my black patent leather boots. They are fantastic. I'll have to take a picture of them for you to see.

I like dressing up and I'm good with colours. And I pay lots of attention to costumes when I watch movies.

OH! Did we already talk about the costumes in the new Pride & Prejudice movie? They blew me away.

(I say in-your-dreams cause there so much politics in my family if I ever decide to marry someone, i'll probably just end up running for Vegas. I had - at one point when i was young and stupid -the whole thing planned, down to what the quartet - I hate djs - would play, but the only way i'd ever even consider an actual wedding is if the groom had enough family to mix mine in and make sure they never met each other during the course of the evening. That or take them up to scotland, where I believe black eyes are something of a badge of honour)
