I liked Battlestar galactica, the only problem i had was that my family are mighty intolerent of any sci fi i want to watch, and BSG was all ways on on the 'family night, so even if they let me have it on the screen, I couldn't understand whats going on for all the shouting and runnings around that happens, same reason I had to resign myself to the fact that the only thing I would ever be able to appreciate about Stargate/Atlantis was the marvellous posteriors of various actors.

Not that I'm complaining.

Phew, longwinded of what?

One thing I hope you guys know is the name of the episode of futurama with the beurocrat song, the eps. about hermes, and ends with the song, done to a kindo of calypso tune, and the last lines are
'they said I probably shouldn't fly, with just one eye! I am Bender please insert girder'

I love that episode, but never manage to catch the beginning.

So...how about some more...I've seen a lot of TV!

Batman: The Animated Series (This would actually fall under Batman: Gotham Knights, but its marketed on DVD as TAS, so, that's what I'm going with.) Oh! Its a three way tie! Over The Edge. This episode STARTS with Jim Gordon and a SWAT team storming the Batcave, guns blazing. The Batmobile is destroyed and Batman and Robin must run for their lives. All as a consequence of the murder of Barbara Gordon at the hands of Scarecrow. The Demon Within: Bruce and Tim meet up with an old acquaintance of Bruce's, Jason Blood. Blood carries a secret...He's really a demon, and what follows was one of the best animated (read, best looking)pieces of cartoonery I've ever seen. Harley and Ivy. Apparently, pairing these two together was a fluke, but it produced one of the best episodes of the show ever. And, for the record, you could do a lot worse than watch any episode that features Mr. Freeze. There's a reason Heart of Ice won a daytime writing emmy.

Smallville: Red. Is it me, or does Tom Welling seem to like playing bad Clark more than playing regular Clark. Red Kyrptonite turns up, and Clark goes haywire. In Smallville continuity, it lets all of his inhibitions go. Some of the best Smallville stories have red kyrptonite in them now, but here it makes it first appearance, and gives Johnathon and Martha the question: "How do you discipline a Super Boy?"

Scrubs: His Story. Dr. Cox take front row, even taking JDs usual voiceover work. Laugh as he tries desperately to come up with a girl's name for JD. Weep, as by the end of the episode, a proposal is finally accepted. Scrubs...one of TVs most underrated shows.

Friends: The One Where No One's Ready. A real time episode that features Joey and Chandler's fight for the chair. Chandler hides Joey's underwear, and Joey's revenge is the stuff of TV history.

The X-Files: Small Potatos, Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose. The show gave David Duchovney plenty of chances to make fun of himself, but, Small Potatos is where it starts. Clyde Bruckman, a man "gifted" with the ability to see how someone is going to die, makes for one of the finest hours on TV, if for nothing else, then for Clyde's explanation of how he got this power.

Lost: Pilot pt 1 and 2: One of the most exciting, pulse pounding episodes of TV I've ever seen. And, guaranteed to make you look at the screen and say "What the hell?"

My fave Futurama episodes are 'Roswell that ends well' when the Planet Express ship goes back in time to Roswell and Fry ends up being his own father because he sleeps with his Mother. LMAO. I also like 'Where no fan has gone before' with the original Star Trek cast, but I also like 'Bender shouldn't be allowed on TV' where Bender becomes a TV star and role model for kids. Theres too many episodes of Futurama I like.

Ah, I love these type of threads

Now I'm going to amaze/shock you all with the unbelievable amount of tv I watch

first of, an obvious one:

Firefly - "Out of Gas". No doubt about it, my all time favourite. Though I do like "Ariel" a lot too, for all its Mission Impossible type shenangians

Smallville - Tough but I'd have to say "Rosetta" a.k.a. "The (first) Christopher Reeve episode". The mythology episodes are always the best and this takes a big step in explaining where Clark is from (like we didnt know already), and creates doubt over what his true destiny is. Plus the moment where we first see Reeve and Mark Snow plays the original Superman music is a true goosebump moment. Honourable mentions to "Memoria", "Covenant" and "Pariah" (I literally jumped for joy and shouted "YES!" halfway through that episode - I never do that)

The X Files - Too hard, so it's a tie between "Memento Mori" and "Redux 2". I've always liked the comedy episodes though and so "Jose Chung's 'From Outer Space'" and "Small Potatoes" are deserve honourable mention as do "Ice", "Release" plus the "Duane Barry/Ascension/One Breath" and "Anasazi/The Blessing Way/Paper Clip" trilogies

The Simpsons - "The Homer They Fall", in which Homer becomes a boxer after discovering that he can withstand numerous hits to the head without it affecting him. Superb. Though, there probably are loads of great episodes, this one stands out.

Alias - "Phase One" for the drama and "Abduction" for the hilarity (Marshall's the star of the show). Like 24, Alias tended to have the stories running for multiple episodes so it's hard to recall what happened in which episode, but these two stand out as two faves.

Farscape - "Won't Get Fooled Again" is completely frelled up, like a lot of Farscape and that's what makes it so entertaining. "Different Destinations" and the "Into The Lion's Den" two parter are fantastic too

Roswell After much thought, it'd have to be "The Toy House", though there are so many favourites. "Independence Day" "Destiny" "A Roswell Christmas Carol" "Cry Your Name" "Departure" etc

Seinfeld - "The Outing" Are Jerry and George a gay couple? Nuff said. ("Not that there's anything wrong with that")

Due South - "All The Queen's Horses" is fantastic and pure Due South - drama, action, comedy and Mounties singing - what's not to like? Always a sucker for depressing downbeat episodes though, two other faves are "The Deal" and "Juliet is Bleeding".

Now and Again - "Deep In My Heart Is A Song". Why the hell was this series cancelled after one season?!!!

Freaks and Geeks - Although every episode is a gem and not having a particular favourite per se, I'd like to nominate "Dead Dogs and Gym Teachers" cos Bill is one of my favourite characters and this was a great episode in which he takes centre-stage as he struggles with the fact that his mum is dating his gym teacher.

The Dead Zone - "Destiny" - I love how it all comes together in the end. "Zion" "Precipitate" and "Playing God" also.

Stargate SG-1 - "Meridian" I love a sad story. Kudos to "Wormhole extreme" "The Changeling", "Prometheus Unbound" and "Citizen Joe" also (Who would have thought a "Clip show" would have made it into a list of favourites)

Wow what a list - and I spent more time thinking about it than expected. To make matters worse, there are other shows I watch that probably could have been included. I really need to get out more.

Firefly: Like everyone, Out of Gas
X-Files: Hard, but I'd have to say "Pusher". Just a great, all-around, monster-of-the-week episode
Smallville: Can't say I've seen them all, but "Covenant", the kick-ass finale of Season 3, stands out just for the head-shaving montage...awesome.
Arrested Development: Best Man for the Gob. I could watch any of these indefinitely, but the Funke band pushes this one over the top, if it's the one I'm thinking of
NewsRadio: Pulling way back, but "The Cane" is an amazing Phil Hartman episode, and (TV Tome's descriptions give out) but whichever one had Dave trying to retake the SAT's and once again being foiled by his video game addiction
SportsNight: The Cut Man Cometh
Simpsons: Holy cow, is it possible to choose?
