Talking in the thread about letting kids watch the show, I ended up wittering about the end scene of Trash (funny how that happens eh?)

The one thing I wanted to know though was that tattoo on his hip (great place for a tattoo I thought) is it Mals or Is it Nathans?

i.e, is it real or did they put it on specifically for the show? and if they did, does anyone know what it is or what it means?

I cant think they'd go to all of the fuss and expense of designing and manufacturing fake tattoos unless Joss or someone wanted it to say or show something.

If it was fake I say it was an old army tattoo, but I can't imagine hips being a popular choice for those types of things (any military guyss want to butt in here please do! )

thats ma question.

I'll try and get an image if no-one else has one (calm down we're talking about the tattoo) can't rightly remember what it was, so that may help (i'll go back and look now and it'll be a picture of Tweety-pie)

i believe it was done specifically for the show, because i noticed that in The Message, Tracy has the same tattoo. i'm pretty sure it's in the same place too. :) Bet Zoe has one as well.

Nope, it's Nathan's. He's said in an interview that he got it when he was 19 and he regrets it--he'd rather be "clean." Too bad--I'm glad he has it! Gives a girl something intriguing to wonder about. Apparently, it's some kind of Egyptian symbol for "peace." At least, that's my understanding.

Few weeks back, I channel-surfed across an "Outer Limits" episode that had Nathan in it (only caught the last couple of minutes, so didn't think it noteworthy, considering how every actor in Hollywood has appeared in TOL at some point). The scene I saw had him in a bed, tangled in bedclothes and the female lead (a bit of fan-service for any women-folk in the audience), but I noticed the tattoo was present.

Didn't look Egyptian, though. Looked more Celtic (kinda a scrollwork knot-like design).

he said it was a peace symblo with some Rgyptian writing around the circle.. don't know if he was serious tho,, it was at the con and he was pretty funny.. so ... who knows!

i was listening to the morena baccarin interview on the signal podcast the other day and she said that the tattoo was nathan's. i meant to go back and find the thread about nathan's tattoo, but i got lazy. so i just had to tell someone what i learned!

i have five tattoos and i don't see what the big deal about being "clean" is. "boring" is a more appropriate word for that.

Great minds think alike. We just watched "Trash" and I have to admit, I was intrigued by that tattoo as well. Tracy's BTW is a blue sun on his shoulder (gee, ya think he might be mixed up with those Blue Sun guys? Naaaah....).

I gotta admit, I admired Mal's (and Nathan's) blatant attitude about the whole being naked on TV thing. Guess this is why I never went into acting: I couldn't do that.

Oh yeah: WHICH Outer Limits episode, for the benefit of this member of the female fan base??? hee hee

I posted wondering about this the other day as well and eveyone came back it was real...you can actually do a google search for "nathan fillions tattoo" (yes...I need to get a life) and a couple of websites have close ups.

Speaking of how hot our Captain is (we were, werent we?) Lets discuss how much better his bod looked in the BDM compared to the Trash ep. Yum

I loved how Joss pointed out that during the only Nathan shirtless scene in the movie, he ends up filming him from the neck up the whole time (very frustrating for us ladies!)

It sucks hes unhappy with his art...love a boy with tattoos! I have 4 (all so very pretty and discreet)
