Besides all of the male-bashing on part of the women (who by the way, obviuosly think about the guys in Firefly the same way), no biggy though, we're all human here.

I would have to say its very difficult to choose when you look at their attributes. Inara is the beautiful, exotic one, Kaylee is just so darn cute and compassionate, River is the wild, flexable one, and Zoe is the strong dominating type (probably).

But to rank them:

This is an amusing thread, with all the usual "women don't understand men and vice-versa" arguments.

I have a slightly different perspective, being older than anyone on Firefly except Shepard Book.

A man with life experience seperates the two questions of "Who would I want to just take to bed", versus "Who would I want to marry/have a serious long-term relationship with".

As far as sex goes, "hot-ness" is usually about the only criteria. A lot of the time when we talk about who we'd like to do the horizontal dance with, it's all just daydream fantasy anyway, just as this thread is.

As far as more serious relationships go, with some experience one learns that appearances mean very little (not to mention, the "hottest hotties" usually turn out to be far more trouble than they are worth, long term). If a gal looks good enough that there is some physical attraction, then its on to a thousand other issues: what does she believe, how does she look at life, what are her values and norms, what is her personality like, does she have intelligence and wisdom, do we have enough similar intrests that we'll have something to talk about once sex has inevitably lost some of its shiny.

But, in keeping with the original question, here's my list:

Kaylee - she's a sweetheart who'd be a pleasure to be with in many different ways. A practical-minded woman like her is a treasure. She's right cute, too.

Zoe - well, I'd never lay a finger on a married lady, but since Zoe is now a widow (Serenity film) I wouldn't mind being her rebound. A strong woman with hidden depths who has seen much, but doesn't reveal all she feels to the world --- well, we'd have a lot in common. Not to mention, she's pretty hot.

Now, as to Miss Inara...well, she is a very beautiful and appealing woman, but I'm afraid my opinion of her profession is much the same as Mal's. In summary, my regrets dear lady, but I'll pass.

River is a beautiful, sinuous and appealing young woman, her emotional problems aside...however, she's young enough to be my daughter and I'd be afraid I'd earn Shepard Book's "special level of hell" for touching such a young and fragile beauty. Oh well.

All right all arguing aside I would have to say for marriage material...

Wash (duh! He's already married so he has to be doing something right)
Simon (He's nowhere near my type, but he'd almost certainly be faithful and sweet.)
Mal (Heehee, I don't care what he told Saffron. He'd make one hell of a husband...providing you could catch him first.)
Jayne (I don't think you could tame him with a cattle prod. The man just likes his tasty too much, lol.
Book (Isn't even in the running, since he's a priest and all.)

Now if you're just lookin' to get sexed as Jayne would say...

Mal (He's my version of sex on legs. Everything about him just makes my knees go weak. Oh, yeah and he's real shiny too, lol.)
Jayne (Same reason he's so not qualified for the previous list.)
Wash (He's cute and he could make you laugh afterwards, but be prepared to be killed by Zoe's pinky.)

This thread is a bit bold, but in me experience, men really aren't sex-crazed idiots. I like sex plenty, and I'm a girl. But I only think of people as 'objects' for fun and in hypothetical situations, like I'm about to in this post.

Mmm, ´kay:

1.Kaylee. She´s easy to be with, which is good, ´cause I´m a little cramped up. Ummm... :) She´s a genuinely good person, not that the other girls aren´t, but... very good vibes emanate from her, happy outlook on life, that 'smell the flowers'-attitude, you know. She could easily have been written as an airhead by a crappier writer than Joss Whedon, but no. And she´s extremely pretty. And I´d want to borrow her clothes.

2. Zoe. I like how she kills people. And she´s got that goddess-thing going with her looks. And she´s practical. (Also... her bottom. Why do people go on about Mal´s? Captain Tightpants? His tight pants are obscured by his coat all the time!)

3. Inara. She is very kind. Which is appealing.

4. River. Uh... how old is she? But she seems smart and funny. Her grace is attractive, too.
