Mints are good.

And you know it's an non-interesting day out in the world when a story about a trapped whale being transported down the Thames and dying on the way gets more airtime on the national news than anything else.

We Brits love a good failure.

The whale died!? How sad is that. Poor thing.

I've been cacooned in my own little saturday world today. It's been nice. Reading favoured fan fics is a great way to pass time. Except now I think I have a headache! Hey ho.

The thing about the whale was that it was perfect for the news channels: it was newsworthy by virtue of its rarity ("Since records began in 1913!" was the cry at the time; not sure who has been patiently ticking a box marked "no whale in Thamas today" for the last 93 years but still...), it had the human interest factor ("Awww, look at the whale. And the children looking at the whale.") and above all else, they could go back to it again and again to fill in those endless hours of dead air.

Had techie Saturday; helped a friend buy a second hand laptop then helped said friend return laptop for not having a battery in it. Found much better laptop later on and sent her away with that. Got a laptop cooler for myself and another bit for someone else.

Other than that, not a huge amount doing. Hmm. Still, happy about a nice win at poker last night and other stuff too.

Life is good.

Oh I missed a whale on the news?! Oh wait that might be cause I don't watch the news here. it tends to be boring.

Way to win at poker SW.

I totally got like 1 hour of sleep last night, and now i'm at work. not fun. AND one of the people i work with saw Underworld Evolution, and i had to tell her to shut up, cause she was talking about it...

I get to see that one on Sunday, can't wait.

The whale died? That sucks.
Seryn, whale saver...Well, ok, yucky brackish water, but is it still salt enough for a whale that far inland?

Lol, yes, but just barely Sunday here. It will be hours yet before there is popcorn.
Hope you're enjoying the new post (except for the understaffed bits).

ya, the base is nice. I just wish i could afford a car and i could go off base! I so miss just being able to borrow my friends car when he was working and going ot the movies, or out to the mall. Now i'm stuck hanging out with a person i knew from guam. While i like hanging out with her (totally another story) i just want to go out the mall or go sight seeing.
