OK that last one was a very nice one ZiiAnarkist, i wasnt realy aiming for space travel but this forum might just sove how serenity can get out there in the real world.
1) serenitys fuel supplies will lie in what was the forward part of the engineroom(i am looking at a diagram of serenity i got from the wikifirefly site) and or below the main room (above the cargo hold), nowdays fuel for planes is stored in the wings so that might be a possibility.
2) i have no idea of what nasa are working on but i guess if man can fly then someone can make artificial grav generators.
3)warp speeds are currently out of our reach but we can get prety fast with the tech we got a grip of at the moment.
and finaly4) there is curently hydrogen based reactors made and bieng used in test vehicles in the US so it could be avaliable soon

at last the VASIMR reactors are in their final stages af testing and nasa are testing the and can currently handle 10,000-300,000 m/s impulse speeds, could be interesting to see later on.

the last things you covered were all systems serenity will need to fly. this all is getting my hopes and dreams up so in the very near future i may see serenity become reality. this forum has helped alot and look foward to the next post that is made

The side-mounted VTOL system (this is confirmed in the Director's Commentary of Episode 00 - Serenity I believe) could present real-world problems but they would likely be solved through brute force: Build actuators and motivators and frame support with strong metals and artificial-diamond alloys that can withstand the torque of the engines and keep Crazy Ivan maneuvers to an absolute minimum. Instead of loosely bolting and welding two VTOL engines on either side, you'd build the mounting bracket into the entire frame, or at least around the cargo hold.

Check RODWY's 'HyperSpace' thread! Holy crap!

Hyperspace travel - possible test in five years?

http://news.scotsman.com/scitech.cfm?id=16902006

I really should know better than to get my hopes up about this stuff. It'll likely be that either:

a) nothing comes of it, there is no hyperflight
b) the speed of travel is far less than expected for some reason or another

But if there's just a chance - oh just a chance - that deep space travel will be possible within our natural lifetimes, I'll be listening.

thanks ZiiAnarkist but i already looked at that and i will be cheaking in with it often to see what comes of it. if something happens with it i will be sure to include that into my design, would help alot to got spaceworthy. one thaught i had was space worthyness, what would be needed to keep it air tight and sealed like on the airlock in the cargo hold.

some help sheding light on the subject would be nice and shiny folks
this might turn out quite nice soon
