I think that's what it's called, at least ^^

Anyway. We all know what happens in The Message, Mal and Zoe's old buddy comes back after faking is own death to get away from real death (only to end up dead anyway, but that's not my point here).

In the first act (or intro) during those battle scenes, Mal says something relevant to what I mentioned above. "Someone's training a bullet right now for you and doesn't even know it. The trick is DIE WELL DAYS BEFORE IT FINDS YA." [capital letters by me].

This is actually exactly what Tracy does in the actual episode later on.

That's all for me, now I'm back finishing "The Message" (I'm right in the beginning of it :P).

Later in the episode (don't read the end of this sentence unless you've finished it!), Tracy says, "You murdered me, Mal," and Mal replies, "No, son. You murdered yourself. I just carried the bullet awhile."

The relevance of that flashback dialogue to the rest of the episode was very, very intentional, and I love the way it works out. They also set up the "If you can't run..." saying early on and don't resolve it until the end.

That, plus the repeated use of the message itself, makes that episode one of my favorites for poignant dialogue.

Actually, the quote is, "Everybody dies, Tracey. Someone's carrying a bullet for you right now, doesn't even know it. The trick is to die of old age before it finds you."

But it is an ironic foreshadowing in that Mal is the one carrying the bullet that will kill Tracey, and doesn't even know it.
