I have been a hardcore sci-fi fan since day "a". I love anything with lasers, robots, or hyperdrives. I married a hardcore reality/heart-wrenched drama fanatic. My brother told me to get my hands on Firefly and i trust his opinion so i did. much to my wife's dismay i popped it into the DVD player and i was instantly sucked in. Surprisingly so was she. Mrs. "i watch the O.C. and Sex in the City" was totally engrossed by Firefly. We watched the entire series together. When it was over, my wife asked "where's season 2?". I told her the torrid tale of the show's untimely demise almost causing tears to fall from her eyes. This was the first time in a long time my wife and i agreed on what we wanted to watch on TV. Bring back Firefly, it saves marriages!!

Hey, come on. There's no need to beat down on other shows just because they're different from Firefly.

The O.C. is braincandy, which is every bit as valid as intellectually stimulating space-westerns. And Desperate Housewives is funny. To some.

I completely agree. The missus normally watches shit lick desperate housewives but I managed to educate her and now she is as big a Firefly fan as me. I might even get her to dress up like Inara...

Sadly...Wash and Zoe work on a strange level. She is the boss while he is the dominated one that makes all the funny jokes. Wash has to be wipped, that's the only way Zoe would have it. It isn't his fault though...I would be afraid of going against her too. She has to get scarry in fights.

I bet Zoe made Wash shave his mustach...that or she shot it off.

I LOVE Firefly, and also Buffy, and Angel, but I'm also a fan of Desperate Housewives and The OC. Different genres is all, sometimes its fun to watch something unintelectually stimulating. Which is how a lot of my friends view Serenity. Just an action movie, with minimal script and a load of big bangs. We all get different stuff out of shows.
